My Own Worst Nightmare Reviews
After reading quite a dark story before, this book was exactly what I needed. There are some wonderful characters, a great storyline, some hot sex and a nice HEA. What more could I want? I totally fell in love with Lily. I admired her for being so clever and strong. For being the Foreman on her father's company, and for just being one of the guys. She's amazing. Bryce doesn't know what's hit him when he gets a good dressing down from the outspoken Lily. I love that she just walks right in, covered in dirt and dust and speaks her mind. Bryce was just as amazing as Lily. The way he looked out for his sister really melted my heart.'He hesitated. "Sis, do you still want that house?" "I've always wanted it," She replied vaguely. "But this place is great, too. I've learned to settle with what I've got." "I'll get you that house," he promised and left.' He was wonderfully sweet and caring, but he had such a sexy flirtatious side to him too..."So, you need an active man?" Bryce inquired. "Would you settle for one that was a little less active than you during the day, but promised to wear you out every night?" I really liked the community that McGhee has created here. Where jobs aren't just jobs, they're like a second family. Where people band together and volunteer to help each other restore their homes, where everyone stops to ask about each other's day. I would love to live somewhere like that. But even beneath the wonderful romance, there was such a clever storyline about a man whose wife committed suicide. He cannot see his own faults, what he did or didn't do, to drive his wife to such extreme measures. He blames Bryce for his wife's death because she sought comfort from him and he refused her... Anyway, this storyline seemed pretty inconsequential in the beginning. However, I didn't see the twist coming. A great book. I will definitely read more by this author :)
I cannot finish this book. I took offense at what I considered poor world choices in reference to two topics with particular reference to Aspergers. This is my personal opinion and others will possibly not agree.
Read this on wattpad and loved it. So glad that Heather was able to get it published. Purchased the kindle edition in support of her. :)
