Ben and Willow. My fave of the series (although I haven't read the 3rd one yet). Willow is in temporary witsec. Her protecting officer is a cat shifter who knows the pack at Woodcliff and when her first cover is blown, takes her there to draw out the bad-'guy'. Ben is a shifter who is serious about his pack and helping others, but little else. He has developed the reputation of a ladies' man and this will come back to bite him in the butt, but not to any obnoxious level (view spoiler)[ there is no OW drama, just Willow's difficulty trusting a man who of his ilk(hide spoiler)]. I love the world building even though it marginalizes female shifters as non-shifting. The side characters are interesting and you get some nice cameos of previous MCs were they are actually a part of the plot. Not just appearing for the sake of our applause... Willow, of course, is human and unaware of shifters. The people in town constantly trip themselves up and Willow is no fool. I like that the author didn't make her seem stupid and oblivious. Actually Ben and the townspeople were the idiots. A fun read and I am sorry that the author doesn't seem to write anymore.

I loved this book! It was sweet, sexy, romantic, and fun. Willow has a quiet strength about her, and Ben is such a giver. They really make a great couple when they stop overthinking it. The shifter world that 19s created is a neat and family oriented one, making for fun and friendly people. The dynamic of Willow not knowing about the Shifter secret and everyone trying to hide it from her allows for many awkward moments, but are offset by some hilarious ones built on inside jokes and some very surprised Shifters.Other than some editing issues, mostly consisting of typos, I don 19t really have any complaints about this story. Although I do wish I 19d read the previous books in the series (I believe this is book 4), but I guess I can go do that now :D!I 19d say the story gets a 4 and the heat gets a 5. Overall it was very enjoyable and incredibly sexy. Her bodyguards are adorable and I love them, and the only thing left to say is 26I want to make Rome purr.
