Candi has dedicated her life to praise and worship, so when Cornerstone explodes into mega-church territory, Candi is sure she’ll be the one to take her team to the next level—isn’t she the obvious choice? Apparently not. Church leadership has other ideas. She’s given a partner to share her duties. But a one-time rocker with zero praise and worship experience?Recently saved Samuel “Shade” Blackledge is new to Cornerstone Fellowship. He’s convinced a strong church family is what will help keep his head above water as he turns from things of the past and builds a new life. The Ex-Dead Lizard rock guitarist is shocked when the pastor suggests he might be just what the worship team needs. But could God really want a tattooed veteran of the club scene? And what about his less-than-Godly lifestyle to this point—not the least of which is a baby girl he’s never seen?Worship practice has never been this interesting as Candi and Shade work their way towards each other—and Unlikely Praise....

Unlikely Praise Reviews
You know, I literally stumbled across this book by accident. And I read the first chapter available on Amazon and then had to buy it. Because I HAD TO KNOW what happened next. Enough I bought the e-book just to get it right then and I don't like e-books as much as print books. Anyway, that frenzied page devouring never, ever let up. This is the third book in as many years that I've been forced to read cover to cover. It's funny because it's not a particularly original premise, or particularly beautiful writing that sings to you when you read it, and the characters could easily be people you know in your everyday life (except for the hero Shade being a famous ex-rockstar maybe, but other than that, he could easily by someone you know.)So what exactly did I absolutely love about this book enough to give it 5 stars and buy a copy for a friend and send it to her? Everything. This book did exactly what a book is supposed to do. Grab you by the throat and refuse to let go until the last page. The ending felt a little abrupt but even with that, I just loved this book.Shade, as far as wounded and wrecked working toward redeemed heroes goes is stellar. Candi the heroine is a hot mess, God love her, and reminds me so much of a previous version of myself it's not even funny. But to explore the hard-hitting social issues this book does, and still be funny (The author REALLY works the deep POV to her advantage) and just plain good, and funny, really really funny, I'm so glad to have stumbled upon it. It surprised me because the plot is fairly simple, and it has a small cast of characters which I usually don't prefer but this will be on my keeper shelf forever. I've already re-read it once between finishing it two days ago and posting this review.

Loved this book!I read Unexpected Wedding, first and had to backtrack to this one because I enjoyed EW so much. I must admit I adore a long haired rocker turned faith filled hero, yet still is a manly man with his tattoos and tough exterior. Shade our hero just made my heart beat faster with his humble attitude and genuine care for our heroine, Candi. Candi was very tightly wound, and very much a control freak who was toting around some serious emotional baggage. She and Shade work through some enormous obstacles to get there HEA. My only complaint would be that I felt the ending was a bit rushed. It was a sweet and heartfelt faith filled read. Definitely recommend!

Not a bad read, just a little predictable.
