WHAT. DID. YOU. DO???? My very first thought at the end of the book. Those who have finished it will know the EXACT moment I am talking about. My head is spinning. I feel sick to my stomach. If my bank account had the money I would be booking a ticket for the first plane out of the States and to the UK RIGHT THIS MINUTE! Tim! *pulling my hair out* Oh Tim, what have you done??? Yes, yes those are REAL tears I wiped away.Ok, so I say this after I finish every book in the Kiera series but this one is my absolute fav. That in itself is a testament to Tim's writing! The story was non-stop. Not a dull moment. Questions from books past begin to get answers. I am *fingers crossed* hoping that what is playing out in my head is what Tim has planned to happen. It had been awhile since we have had a new Kiera book and I'm pretty sure I was starting to have withdrawals. Please give us DEAD LOST sooner rather than later! I don't think I can take it much longer! If you are new to Tim's writing, get yourself a copy of VAMPIRE SHIFT, book one in the first Kiera Hudson series. You will love the ride Tim will take you one as you progress through the books! And for goodness sakes, don't forget to tell your book loving friends how incredible these reads are!!

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle 26TH MARCH 2013:RATING: 4.5 TIGER IS UPSET STARS! I have been following Tim O’Rourke and his stories from his very first Kiera Hudson book, Vampire Shift. I love his sense of humour, his ability to bring together a fighting scene with a visual that plays out like a mini movie in my head. He can throw Hannibal Lecter style gorey scenes into his writing, without blinking, I on the other hand would prefer not to be eating whilst reading. He brings his cast of characters that we have grown to love together and puts them through all sorts of his mad cap action scenes and story line. I always know I am in for a ride with his Kiera Hudson series. Tim injects such enthusiasm into his writing, always plotting ahead, trying to outsmart the reader with his twists and curveballs that he throws at the reader. Some curveballs we catch and some we miss totally like a blind man. His twists can hurt our feelings and sometimes bring us to tears. Kiera and Potter have some sorting out to do in Dead Water. Poor Potter seems to get himself in a bit of strife with other female characters. Is it his fault? Well, I like to stick up for him, but sometimes he does make it hard. I did have a hard time understanding you with Sophie, Potter.I had fucked up a lot in my life, but this was the mother of all fuck-ups. If you could win the gold at the Olympics for the biggest screw-up, I’d be up there on the podium, clutching the gold, silver, and bronze medals. I really like the new characters that have been brought into the storyline. One in particular, I think is a great new addition, she has a lot of spunk. I look forward to seeing where Tim takes these characters. Dead Water is a book that is full of banter between my fave characters, Potter and Murphy. They are my Starsky and Hutch. They work so well together, often yelling at each other. They have a love like a father and son that is deeper than all the potty mouthed banter that they throw at each other. The readers of this series all have a lot of heart for Potter and Murphy. They bring something special through their dialogue, the way they play off each other. I found myself laughing out loud while reading this instalment for most of the book.......... “Well, it’s a bit late in the day for all this overprotective bullshit, don’t you think?” I came back, cigarette dangling from the corner of my mouth. “We’re only in this mess because of you.” “Are you taking drugs?” Murphy said, coming from around the side of the van in the snow. “You’re in the crapper because you can’t keep your dick in your pants. It’s not me who has been waving it around like it’s going out of fashion! To be honest, I’ve never understood how you’ve ever managed to get so much action.” “I’m not talking about my sex life,” I growled. Then quickly added, “Besides, why shouldn’t I have had lots of woman action? What’s wrong with me?” “What’s wrong with you?” Murphy coughed, lighting his pipe. “Just take a good, hard look at yourself. You’re untidy-looking. Your attitude stinks. You’re violent. Your hatred for wolves borders on the psychotic, you’re foul-mouthed, you chain smoke...” “I’m not untidy-looking,” I cut in, unable to believe he could think such a thing of me. “You take that back. That’s a freaking lie if I ever heard one.” “Don’t even get me started on the whole lying thing,” Murphy snapped, taking the pipe from the corner of his mouth and pointing it at me. “I don’t lie,” I shot at him. “Yeah, you do,” he grunted. “When?” I demanded. “Every time your lips move,” he said. “Yeah, very funny, you miserable old fart,” I said. “You lied to Kiera, too. You’ve known for years the truth about her, but...” “I was trying to protect her,” Murphy interrupted. “And so was I!” I snapped at him. “You have a funny way of showing it!” Murphy barked. “We’re cops,” Potter said. Now I don’t know if Potter was being a wise arse, but all the same, it seemed like a stupid thing to say. “I can see that,” the cop growled, his voice sounding deep and throaty. I saw the two silver pips on each of his shoulders. He was an Inspector, and he outranked Murphy. “You’ll have to forgive Constable Gabriella,” Murphy cut in. “He is still young in service. He obviously didn’t understand your question.” “How many ways have I got to tell you, Sarge – its Gabriel! Gabriella is a freaking girl’s name!” Potter glared at Murphy. The Inspector looked at both Murphy and Potter in disbelief as they stood and argued. “Listen here, you couple of morons, I couldn’t give a crap what your name is. You need to get your act together and smarten up. Just look at yourselves. You’re a complete mess.” “See, Gabriella, I told you you’re untidy and need to smarten yourself up,” Murphy grunted. “But oh no, you wouldn’t listen to me. And now the Inspector has seen you looking like a sack of shit, and we’re both in trouble.” “I don’t look like a sack of shit!” Potter snapped back at Murphy, taking a cigarette from his coat pocket and lighting it. “I wear my uniform with pride. Anyway, you’ve got no room to talk – you’re wearing carpet slippers, for fuck’s sake!” “You’ll have to forgive my nephew,” Murphy said, looking back at the man. “He is a little bit simple – you know, has learning difficulties.” “Retarded, you mean?” the man asked, eyeing me, now with some pity in his eyes. “I’m not a freaking re...” I started. “And I’m his social worker,” Kiera cut over me, taking me gently by the arm. Then, looking at me, she smiled sweetly and added, “Come on back to the car, Gabriel. You’ll be safe and warm there. Let Uncle Murphy pay for the damage you’ve caused.” “This is un-fucking-believable...!” I started. “Shhh now,” Kiera hushed gently, easing me away by the arm. “Don’t get yourself upset, Gabriel. We’ll find some other place to stay tonight. Then tomorrow you’ll be safe and sound back in your secure unit.” Doing her best to hide a smile, she looked up at me and said, “Gabriel was lost, but I’ve found him again now.” The campsite owner came towards me. Then, talking as if I wasn’t there at all, he sighed and said, “Poor fella. In the daylight, I can see he ain’t exactly normal. He’s got that vacant look behind the eyes. I can tell he’s not too tightly wrapped.” Then, reaching into his trouser pocket, he produced a bar of chocolate. “Go on, son, take it. It’s a little treat. I’m sure your social worker won’t mind me giving it to you. It is okay if I give him some chocolate, ain’t it?” he said, glancing at Kiera. “Sure,” Kiera smiled. “Take the chocolate from the nice man, Gabe.” “You’re enjoying this aren’t you?” I growled at her. Turning to face the campsite owner, I added, “You can stick your chocolate bar right up your fu...” “We should be going,” Murphy suddenly cut in. “Gabriel is starting to get upset again.” “I think you’re right,” Kiera said, guiding me by the arm towards the car. “Say goodbye to the nice man.” “The nice man can go fu...” I started to say. “Fuck, she’s a heavy girl,” he wheezed. Murphy shot him a look. “Sorry,” Potter muttered and doubled his efforts. ......... And then I found myself upset.I hold onto my theories in the hope I am right, or at least partially right. As it stands, Tim and I have a date in the playground...... the sandpit to be exact. Little brother from another mother, it is on!Michelle

I am in a complete state of mind numbing shock right now, tears -big fat ugly- tears, streaming down my face, on the floor, in the fetal position, blinding heartache. This series is gonna land me in therapy yet.....Kiera & the gang are back, what's left of them anyway, the scooby gang seems to get smaller & smaller as time wears on. Kayla & Sam are missing and Kiera, Potter & Murphy are heading off to the 'Dead Waters' or fountain of souls in search of them. The best part IMHO? Potter's hilarious freakin banter is back!! "You couldn't solve a crime even if you stumbled across a killer standing over a headless corpse with an axe in his hand shouting, 'I'm glad I chopped the arsehole's freaking head off!'" I groaned. "You're nothing like Kiera.""I know she doesn't look like much, but you should see her in action. Believe me she can be a real Tiger when she wants to be," Potter smiled at the inspector. Then winking at me, Potter added, "Isn't that right?"Seriously, I love that man. It was also neat to see the way Murphy acts towards Kiera, now that all their secrets have been revealed & he no longer has to hide the fact that he's her Uncle. Kiera has to come to terms with her lycanthrope half, her mothers identity & crimes, and her relationship to Jack Seth. She also struggles with her feelings for Potter, now that she knows he has lied to her. This book is split been Kiera & Potters POV, which I throughly enjoyed-I love getting into that mans head Lol.Secrets of the statues are finally revealed & I'm proud to say I was actually right about them!! That NEVER happens so YAYYYY!! There is plenty of action, blood & gore along the way, as well as some knock you on your arse twists & surprises. But the ending....oh that devastating cliffhanger that took half my heart & soul with it?!? I don't know how I'm ever gonna recover from that shock. My logical side (the part of me that hasn't been crushed beyond belief) has been following this author long enough to know that NOTHING is ever as it seems. In reality, I should pull myself out of my pit of despair and wait until the series concludes to fall apart, and I will....eventually. Right now I have to hold together what little sanity I have left while I not-so-patiently wait for the next book.If you have not started this series yet, what are you waiting for?!?? You are seriously missing out, so go get Vampire Shift & begin this amazing journey =)

To see my full review:http://wp.me/p1jhaj-3lpI just died a little bit. But just a little, because I know O’Rourke is going to fix it. He can’t leave it like that, can he? Well, he can, but, will he? Good God, I hope not! This one time I’m hoping that I’m right in my inkling about the ending. About what really just happened, about what sucker punched me in the mouth and ran off with my breakfast. Seriously. I never saw it coming, and then it was there, and I gapped and screamed and yelped like child. Because… that cliffhanger is mean, but perfect, as it were. I’m just hoping… fingers crossed, that this once, just this once, what I think will happen will actually happen, because it’s the only way I see out of this dark tunnel. But on the upside, O’Rourke had a vast imagination and he’s already twelve steps ahead of me. *Sigh* the wait for the next two installments of series two might put me in the grave. This is another fabulous Kiera Hudson read, full of raw anger, lust, and love. Yes, there is a fairly graphic love scene in this novel, so no, I wouldn’t give it to your kids, but it’s perfect, especially as Kiera and Potter have come such a long way from the beginning of the first series, 13 books ago. That’s not to say that there haven’t been some graphic scenes like this in prior novels, but… this one is the most graphic, in my opinion. It also symbolizes the extreme love, passion, and freedom Kiera and Potter feel around, and for, each other. So, truth be told, I loved it.This novel also sheds light on the mysterious statues that seem to be following Kiera, Potter, and Murphy throughout the second series, and, of course, it all comes to a head as we learn just who the Wolf Man really is, and what he really wants. O’Rourke has created another masterpiece, and I highly suggest it for those who have read the previous series. And… there’s a treat for us readers at the very end of the book. Keep scrolling through your ereader to see it after you finish the last page. I promise, you won’t be disappointed! Five stars.P.S. If you haven’t yet started this series, well, pick up Vampire Shift right now and get started. Seriously. It’s only .99 cents and worth so much more than that.

As with all of Tim's books you go through different levels of emotions. There's the happiness usually this happens just because you have the next installment of Tim's books in your hands. Then there's the laughter, this happens when Potter and Murphy get together, they are so hilarious. My favourite quote"You couldn't solve a crime even if you stumbled across a killer standing over a headless corpse with an axe in his hand shouting, 'I'm glad I chopped the arsehole's freaking head off!'" I groaned. Then the sorrow as Potter thinks he has lost Kiera and your heart just goes out to him when he says,"Did she really think I would hate her because she was part wolf? I couldn't give a monkey's toss if she was half chimpanzee - I loved her regardless."Then there's Murphy being all protective over Kiera now that the secrets out and she knows he's her Uncle and it just drives Potter wild as he's taking all the credit for how Kiera turned out. Then there's a few of the steamy scene's between Potter and Kiera "cough cough" moving on!!Then there's Jack, what a surprise can he really have a heart hmmm, I'll keep my judgement on him open as I'm not convinced. Then comes the shocker, smack in the head of a finale as you're left broken in despair as the story comes to an end which left me shouting "NO, No, No." But we shall have to see where this story goes as in all of Tim's books you can never be sure as to what is permanent or is it just a temporary glitch? I'm hoping on the latter and things will sort itself out, fingers crossed. Don't know how I going to manage until the next installment, I'm gonna be a nervous wreck.Seriously If you need more convincing that this series is that good there is no hope for you, so buy Vampire Shift now!!

As a lover of this series, I can't say that I'm actually happy about the end of this book. Okay, as I don't want to confuse you about the previous sentence, I loved the book! The ending, however, is heartbreaking. Heartbreaking for me because I've come to love these characters. Okay, I'll be honest, I'm obsessive!I don't know how to review this one without spoilers. Let's just say It's worth every penny and worth every second of your time. Good to have Kiera and the gang, along with a few others, heading off to find answers to all the questions they have. I must go and find some kind of understanding about the end of this book now. Not cool Tim O'Rourke!

NOOOOO!!!! This can’t be happening!? This can’t be happening!!? OMG this really just happened! WOW! I’ve been obsessed with the Kiera Hudson series since the first book in the first series, Vampire Shift, and so much has happened since then. Tim ALWAYS surprises me and always takes me for a fun ride, it’s like a crazy roller coaster with turns I never saw coming at all. My heart has broken into pieces and I can’t wait for book 7, Dead Lost. Hurry up Tim!!

Wow! As I started to read Dead Water, I felt like I was amongst friends that I had missed so much. It was like snuggling up in a warm and soft blanket. I feel this was one of the most graphic with gore factor, but it was freaking awesome! The fighting scenes made me feel as if I was right there in the middle of it all, but I was invisible ...wrapped in my blanket. Murphy and Potter ... *sigh*. These two men just make me crack up! The banter between the two make me so happy!! I am so proud of Kiera. She has come a long way since Ragged Cove. I have seen her transform from an innocent young woman to a fierce warrior and leader. Kiera and Potter's love is on a roller coaster, but what's to expect with the world they live in? The ending was excruciating, though. It was so painful to read. I know in my heart that Tim will make it right. I pray that he will! It's funny because each and every time I read one of Tim's books, in the moment, I feel that it's my favorite. I have come to the conclusion that every single book and series Tim writes is my favorite. Each and every one is so unique and masterfully written. The man is amazing!

It is not over until the fat lady sings! I understand there will be more books to come in the series and hopefully Potter Murphy and Kiera will evolve intact. They are family and need to survive even this horrible ending. Have faith in "Tim" he loves Potter, he will fix it!

Tim O'Rourke has done it again! Made me race against time so I could reach the ending of this book asap... it's got suspense, love, drama, fun and more suspense. The man has created such enduring characters, people who are odd and normal everyday beings like you and me. People who have fun and yet suffer. The amount of things I thought and felt while reading this book, the places I visited, the way I soared through night skies and walked knee-deep in the snow. How I swam in the dead waters and felt cold and warm with the characters. This book took me away to many places, showed me the wonders of Kiera's England and how she feels about her friends. The book is, as always with this author, clear, easy to read, interesting, gripping and with descriptions that will carry you away. The characters are already friends of mine, heartwarming and loveable, while the villains surprised me over and again. Dead people who are alive, living people who die, dead people who die again. This book is surprising, endearing, heartbreaking... I can't even begin to explain this book without spoiling it for you.. and we do not want that so I'll say it simply... READ IT!

Well we have ended up with more questions than answers that is for sure and who would have guessed that Jack would decide to redeem himself after all this time. I was not surprised by the statues as I had kind of guessed but with all the secrets being revealed - I could not have even begun to imagine that ending. I kept hoping it was a dream sequence or something, anything but that reality. Seriously Tim how could you possibly leave it there? Surely Kiera deserves her HEA considering all the torment she has been through, several lifetimes to be exact. With all the twists and turns, it is anybody's guess as to the final outcome but I am keeping my fingers crossed anyway. Now I am anxiously awaiting the next book, hoping it has the resolution I desire but knowing Tim as I do, all bets are off.

Braine's open letter to Tim O'RourkeLinda O'Rourke, how can you let this happen?! I thought you're my girl, my fellow Potter groupie!! WHY?!?!?!?!Tim, you have to wean yourself off that Kool-Aid you've been drinking or whatever it is you've been smoking because you can't keep on messing up with Kiera and us! Dude, her ordeal can rival the Passion of Jesus H. Christ! I can't blame her if one day she jumps off your computer and start strangling you for making her go through what she's been and still is going through. You better fix this in Dead Lost.

Finally a 5 star rating deserving title in this series. My most common complaint was that things were getting either too side-tracked (even though they were necessary) or too predictable. This one was definitely not one of them. The secret of statues was the unexpected one. I personally thought that it was the Vampyrus present as the statues, not these people. On the other hand, once you show your hand in the game of cards, it is quite hard to keep the person on the other side guessing. From the second book of this series (just like with the first one) itself I had guessed who Wolfman was going to be. I liked the Potter-Murphy banter, though sometimes it almost made me jump a few pages.Looking forward for the next installment of the survivors' story.(Regarding the title: Is the next one Dead Lost or Dead End? Is it the last or second last?)UPDATE: Just checked www.kierahudson.com and Dead Lost is book 7 and Dead End is book 8. And there is going to be a third series for Kiera Hudson as well! I hope the story is interesting or else I won't pick it up. I picked up series one because of vampires, series two because I had to try Dead Flesh and was intrigued by the statues initially until book 2 happened so I truly hope series 3 has something very good like that too because frankly, I am getting a little bored with the small predictable parts which often threaten the interest in the story. By the way, (view spoiler)[killing everyone in every series and then bringing them back in the next is acceptable once but not twice.(hide spoiler)]

oh Tim, even though I saw it coming, and it was necessary, it still broke my heart for Kiera. and now I have more questions - but would I find the answers if I went back to 2.1?

It is such a treat to read a Tim O'Rourke story. As it has been a few months since I have read Dead Wolf (Keira Hudson Series 2 Book 5), I was beginning to think I'd forget where I left off! Oh no, not with Tim. His writing allows for the reader to easily carry on the Keira journey, with reminders throughout where the story has been to. Therefore also allowing a fresh reader to the series to settle into the story. With Vampyrus, Lycanthrope, Skin-Walkers and more, this paranormal series will grip you like no other!Dead Water largely follows half-breed Keira and Vampyrus Potter and Murphy travel to the Dead Water, in search of their friends, Kayla and Sam. During their journey, in the 'pushed' world they have found themselves in, they are gradually turning into statues, cracking and slowly turning to dust. However, during moments of ingesting a little blood they are able to keep going until they reach their destination. Upon finding it a little too easy to have reached their destination, Keira fears that not all is as it seems! After reading the subsequent novel, fans of the series are absolutely desperate to know how Keira and Potter's relationship will fare. In Dead Water we follow the story from Keira's and Potter's points of view. It is more than fair to say that at the beginning of Dead Water Keira is quite hurt and upset. After finding out who she really is, and that her lover and friend, Potter and Murphy, have been lying to her she doesn't really have much to say to them. Potter, in particular, has a hard time from Keira especially as Keira feels betrayed by him in more ways than one. Unfortunately for Potter, Keira doesn't want to hear that he was only trying to protect her and spare her feelings. She can't possibly give in to him as she knows she would only get hurt again.Poor Potter was actually betrayed himself, with the idea of upsetting and manipulating Keira. It is so clear why fans of this series love Potter. His feelings are so strong but not always transparent to Keira. However, reading his point of view the reader does understand him and the reader wants to pull Keira aside to explain this to her. There have been moments when Potter has been a little too trusting of others, especially of the female kind, and has ended up in some messy situations!Even though there are some pretty intense moments between Potter and Keira, on the other hand there are some really great scenes with Potter and Murphy. In regards to Keira, Murphy is a little overbearing in an observant and protective manner. However, some of Murphy's remarks to Potter about her are obvious, annoying or over the top. It's almost like Murphy is trying to get a rise out of Potter. To which Potter replies brilliantly in his sarcastic manner which made me laugh out loud at times. This provided a great relief in between the overall tense feeling.I also thought it was fantastic to read about Keira using her investigative skills, trying to find Kayla and Sam, as she returns to the snow-covered field where they had been involved with a wolf attack with Potter and Murphy in Chapter 4. (This is where many of Potter's sarcasm comes to the fore with Murphy!) This scene, as well as how Keira carefully works out what has happened as she illuminates certain possibilities, really took me down memory lane to the first instalment of Keira when she first visited the Ragged Cove and met Potter and Murphy in Vampire Shift! Here Keira was taken to her first scene where a body was found just within the tree-line of a field and Keira used her 'seeing' abilities to spot the smallest of details! This scene is very fresh in my mind, especially after having read the Graphic Novel of Vampire Shift a few weeks ago.The excitement grows with each chapter. There is a great use of dialogue, as in many of Tim's books. This makes it a fun and quick read, even though the plot itself is very rich in intensity and depth. The scenery changes so much, along with the weather conditions, as the story moves on. This again is typical of Tim O'Rourke, especially in the Keira Hudson series. We begin with snow, fields, the blood red Dead Water, the upward current of the Fountain of Souls, forestry and the town of Wasp Water. You can also gauge from some of these names that Tim's imagination takes you to a completely different 'pushed' world of your own as the stories remain alive and strangely real. It is also regular for Tim to introduce new characters and in this instance it comes in the form of statues, which have strangely been following Keira and her friends to the Dead Water. The ending of this one will certainly shock many fans. On the one hand I am thinking, 'Tim, what have you done!?', and on the other I am quite excited of the possibilities that it could bring. I do have my own theories so I hope I am right. I personally believe that if an author does surprise you, even in a negative manner, that it is a work of brilliance. These days I don't think it takes much to shock people, especially open-minded people. And I also like an author that isn't too predictable! The following instalment, 'Dead Push' is available now and I will hopefully be reviewing it very soon. In the meantime, come and check it out on Goodreads.

NooooooYou have got to be kidding me?! Please don't let it be so! My stomachs in knots, I am finally happy to know what the creepy statutes were always following them, surprised to say the least. But I guess if they are all. Alive in this push world then I guess Luke had to be to

A review for this book is hard for me.At times I would give it 5 stars, but in the end I would give it only 1...What happened in the end put me in a state of shock.I think that in the next book it's going to be ok (I can not say what because then I spoil a lot)If this one person is not coming back that I'm really pissed!!!So I'll give this book a benefit of a doubt, 4 stars.
