Sophie's Encore Reviews

In Sophie's Encore we catch up with Sophie a few years after Sophie's Turn. Sophie and her family are adjusting to the events that rocked their world. Sophie has matured further with a growing family.Dan is as ever the Rock Star, out on the road, in the studio, dipping in and out of Sophie's life. He doesn't look ever ready to settle down. His life is worlds apart from Sophie and her family. As to be expected from the title, there is quite a bit of Rock n Roll in the story, but also some down to earth problems for these characters. A sudden turn of events shows that Dan is not just a Rock Star and not invincible. What I really enjoyed about this novel was that I could just settle into the storyline with some well known characters. I already knew their background and how they had gotten to this point in their lives. I have enjoyed this series of novels more and more with each new episode. I was not a great fan of Sophie and her immature ways in Part One. I began to like her and how she was maturing in Part Two. In Part Three I could really identify with how she had taken on the role of mother to two small children. Dan did not really change much, but that was to be expected as he was older and did not have the changes and responsibilities that Sophie had. Their friendship could stand the test of time and change. Part 3 of the Rock Star Romance Trilogy brings a satisfying conclusion to Dan and Sophie's story. Read one or read them all.5 out of 5! BOOK REVIEW: Sophie’s Encore (Rock Star Romance, #3) - Nicky WellsARC provided by the author for an honest review. Review will also appear on our blog at: www.perusingprincesses.comIt has been seventeen years since my fateful train journey to Edinburgh to visit the band backstage after they extended a random invitation at a gig a few days previously. For more than twenty years, Tuscq had provided the musical backdrop to my life, seeing me through the highs and the lows, whether they had known it or not. I was thirty-six years old, and yet Dan and his band still made me feel like a teenager. - Sophie JonesSophie Jones proves she's got what it takes to make it in a world that, at times, has not always been particularly kind. Her life has had it fair share of ‘life-altering’ moments, from the house fire on her thirtieth Birthday, to the confusion and heartbreak over her ex partners, to being a crutch for her once suicidal best friend; she remained the levelheaded strong one. The woman whom everyone came to for support and advice. The woman who, after many years of unconventional fails, finally found her home in the arms of a Hospital Nurse named Steve. At the end of book two, we are awarded the delights of Sophie donning a wedding dress and marrying the man of her dreams. The author hinted on many occasions that our Rock Star, Mr Dan Hunter still held a strong affection for his ex-lover and best friend, and yet we are lead to believe that nothing would ever come of it. I resigned myself to the fact that Sophie’s story, although not complete, would hold an air of forbidden desires better left untouched as she moved on with her new spouse into the folds of matrimonial bliss.Enter chapter one of Sophie’s Encore and I can honestly say, I never expected the events to unfold as they did. Talk about a red herring! My face must have been a picture as the shock slowly registered. I resembled a fish gasping for air as my mouth continued to open and close of its own accord. While shouting most unladylike...“OKAY...WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED”?!Sophie... There were times I wanted to hold you baby girl and cry with you. There were times I wanted to shake you and tell you to snap out of it, and there were times when I just wanted the old Sophie Penhalligan back...Dan...I have always loved Dan Hunter. Always! But his zealous partying and cliche rock star antics always put a dark cloud over what ‘could’ have been with Sophie many years past. Yet, his feelings for Sophie were never embellished for the sake of being just another ‘rock star romance,’ the union from lover to best friend flowed consistently, forever open and honest. How many of us are lucky enough to have a rock in our lives? I’m not talking ‘rock’ star either, as Dan proves in this finale, that there is more to him then meets the eye, it just took his best friend to show him how beautiful life is, if you are strong enough to survive it.“You got me falling,” he said in a low, seductive voice. “I just hope you’ll catch me.”I can’t tell you anymore without planting some serious spoilers, and every reader who has followed Sophie’s story from the very beginning has earned the right to experience this book like I did. Unattractive gaping fish face be damned!Sophie Jones is a new woman with a whole new story to tell in what is her final encore, and I strongly recommend you invest in tissues!Nicky Wells has pulled out all the stops and saved the best till last in Sophie’s Encore, proving she’s certainly got what it takes to enter the ‘Rock Star Romance Writers Hall of Fame.’ If I could give her a shiny platinum disc for her efforts, I would, but it just so happens I am out. Yet, I am fortunate enough to be one of the lucky few who has miraculously earned the right to call her friend, so a big ‘high-five, rock on sister,’ will have to suffice... for now! ;)5-STARS!

My review:I have to start with saying that Rock Star Romance Trilogy is one of the most fun and positive contemporary romance series I have read. Don't get me wrong, there is enough drama and serious things taking place in the series, but at the end of the day, it leaves you with lots of hope and happy feelings. I loved that. Besides that, I think Nicky is an awesome writer, she takes you to a journey which is filled with all kinds of different feelings and that is what I, as a reader, adore: there is love, there is loss, there is hate, there is excitement, there is happiness, there is hope, there is sadness. You name it and she delivers it to you!Plot: Sophie's Encore starts few years later after the second book in the series - Sophie's Run - ends. That was the first surprise the author delivered. Sophie's life has changed a lot, she has become a mother and a widower and that was a very hard thing for me to swallow: How come? What has happened in the meantime? What happened to Dan?Then the author gives you flashbacks to the few years in Sophie's life between the books and you understand. I was shocked and had some difficulties with coping, but when continued reading, everything made sense and my confusion disappeared with each page I turned.Sophie is struggling, because the man she loved left her behind with two wonderful kids. She gives everything to her kids and has forgotten about herself and her happiness, she does not remember what is means to taking care of herself. She has lost herself in mourning and loss. The only strong and stable support in her life is Dan, her very own rock star and best friend who has stayed in Sophie's life. Dan is encouraging Sophie to move on with her life and brings her closer to his life by teaching her how to mix music.Step by step Sophie starts learning and not only of mixing music, but also what it means to live and love again. Just when everything starts to look brighter, a dramatic thing happens which makes Sophie realize what are the most important things and people in her life.Characters:I have not words enough to describe how I enjoyed the friendship and the relationship between Sophie and Dan. It was simply so real. Not a fluffy-pink-forever-happy love, but real love which contains everyday life as well. Even though I was shocked about what has happened in Sophie's life, I loved that the author gave me two mature main characters. Of course, one of them being a rock star, but still, the problems they faced were mature and real. Besides the main characters, the kids were absolutely adorable. I fell for them! I fell for them hard.Generally:Read it! That's all I am going to say. Read it and read the whole series and you will get the ride of your lifetime!

This series has had me fan girling from page one! I just can not get enough. Saying that... this review is very bitter sweet. Knowing that this is the last in this fabulous, wonderful series is so terrible!! I don't want Sophie's story to end! I have to admit, though, as I read as slowly as I possibly could, making sure every single word was absorbed, I wound up flying through it and loved every minute! If you have yet to read books one and two, you may want to BUT Nicky Wells is a genius and she reminds us of what happened in the first two books, not extraordinarily so, so there will be things you will miss if you just jump right in, BUT you are able to. Although, I'd recommend getting the full story before venturing into book three, this story is just SO worth it!!At the front of the book it says "Her rock star is waiting in the wings but will he get a second chance?" I was mystified! What?!! Nicky Wells! What have you done? After pacing the living room, I knew I had to dive in and find out... I was shocked, mesmerized, amazed... It is bittersweet but Sophie's Encore was every bit as good as the first two in this series, if not BETTER! My only wish is that we didn't have to say goodbye to Sophie!Multiple times I found myself sniffling and wondering what was going to happen. So much has happened in this series and my heart strings are just tugging for Sophie, for both the good and the bad. And the struggles that Dan and Sophie have to maintain an adult relationship while with her two children! So of course this book is about the push and pull that these two have for each other. The old familiar feelings but so much has happened between them, what's a girl to do right?! --- Rock star extraordinaire, lead singer of mega rock band Tuscq, erstwhile boyfriend and now godfather to my children. And then you have the totally fabulous Rachel. I love everyone in this book, but this gal just freaking rocks. She's that friend that tells you what you don't really want to hear, but she knows you NEED to hear it. Yeah, that annoying friend that you have to just love. I was so happy to see her back in this story. But what would a story about Sophie be without Rachel!? --- I rolled my eyes. Why did she keep bringing this up? “He does not. He totally doesn’t. We’re only working together.” “Yada, yada, yada.” Rachel pretended to be bored. “I think he has the hots for you, and I am never wrong.”If you have yet to read this and enjoy contemporary romance, do yourself a favor and pick these three up! You will NOT be disappointed. Oh, and drink some coffee or bubbly while you're reading!

Here we are at the final book in the Rock Star trilogy. It is a sad moment for me!I missed the chance of getting to know one character better because obviously, we weren’t going to go in that direction. However I didn’t realise how dramatic that would be!We begin Sophie’s Encore with Soph and best friend Rachel on a Friday night in. Straight away we’re back into the bonds they have with each other and … a crisis!Sophie is not letting go of what has happened in the intervening years. Dan is still a big part of Sophie’s life but in a very different role! With Josh starting at school and Emily starting at pre-school, the time has come for Sophie to get back out into the world.Dan teaches her sound engineering and she’s taken on as Richard’s apprentice. Love the way she hears sound in colour! I’m going to try this the next time I get the opportunity to lose myself in music! I must admit that at one point I was getting anxious that Wells had got hung up on the musical aspect of the story but no, once we’re familiar with Sophie’s new occupation, it’s integrated with her life.Dan’s hectic lifestyle of working and supporting Sophie causes a major crisis. One particular scene is full of angst and tension. I just wasn’t expecting this! Wells portrays this really well. It is obvious she has researched and the facts translate so well into the story during this trauma.I thought that Josh and Emily’s characters truly enriched this final part of the trilogy with their reactions to experiences being so true to life.Dan is still HOT and very desirable. Even more so now he has matured and has taken on a different role. He’s still a lot of fun! I wouldn’t mind spending Christmas with him …The romance? I’m not going to say anything at all apart from my favourite part has to be while Sophie and her children are touring with Tuscq … and one particular scene had me in tears of joy. You’ll have to read the book to find out more!I have to be honest and tell you that when I reached 95% I just couldn’t pick it up again. Why? Simple. I didn’t want the trilogy to end. I was putting off those final moments.Romance, friendships, music, how children change your life, grief, learning to live again, illness, new locations and touring with a well-known rock band … what’s not to hold your attention? Wells does include information that the reader needs to know from the previous books but to get the whole picture, you really do need to start at the beginning to see how everything builds naturally to reach its final conclusion.I would like to thank the author in providing an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

Firstly I’d like to thank the author for sending me this ARC to read and give an honest review. I really enjoyed the first two books in the trilogy and I was excited to finally find out how it would all end but I also felt sad that there would be no more of Sophie’s adventures to follow. This is a difficult review to write because there is only so much I can say without giving too much away, I will try my best though…At the end of the last book there was a wedding and an exciting announcement. A girly chat between Sophie and her friend Rachel at the beginning of this book revealed so much, some of which I struggled to comprehend (my jaw totally hit the floor). Once it all sank in I quickly found myself immersed in this fabulous story – I just love how Nicky still managed to surprise me after three books!Sophie’s life had moved on quite dramatically in good ways and in bad, the difficult parts were superbly written as the strength of her feelings jumped off the page at me and left tears pouring down my face. Dan was his usual charming and swoon-worthy, rock star self and their friendship was even more complicated this time round (something I didn’t think was possible), although I will say that I think their connection was stronger than ever too.As always I enjoyed the musical side, the lessons in mixing and mastering were fascinating – I had no idea so much went into the whole process! There were many ups and downs that kept me entertained throughout, some of my favourite moments included: an amusing fact about snails, a very merry Christmas, an interesting new use for a guitar case and a magical theme park holiday. Towards the end I kind of knew what was about to happen but despite this it still managed to take my breath away!I feel as though I was taken full circle with this book in a way that was fitting for such a great series. Seeing Sophie grow through each of the books has been wonderful and the beautiful epilogue left me smiling with happiness for her.Sophie’s Encore was totally unexpected but in a very good way, this series finished with a bang and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has ever had a crush on a star :) .

I've been waiting for the rest of Sophie's story and when I opened up Sophie's Encore I got a surprise I was NOT expecting! I immediately was hooked again by Sophie and Dan as they navigated their new, rather unusual, relationship. Nicky Wells has taken the reader through every emotion possible first in Sophie's Turn, then Sophie's Run and finally with Sophie's Encore, and what an encore it is! Sophie has so many emotions running through her mind at once, guilt, anger, frustration, love, hate, love, lust, love, guilt, and did I mention love? I love how Nicky takes the reader through seemingly normal days in what could be anyone's life, but makes you feel what they are feeling and leaves you turning pages to see if Sophie ever manages to let her heart take over! The unique side story line in the book has Sophie learning how the recording studio works and how the mix masters take a raw song and turn it into the music we hear on the radio. Although I was surprised and completely shocked(way to go Nicky!)Sophie's Encore was everything I had hoped it would be, and more! I highly recommend the Rock Star Series if you are a series reader. You start out getting to know Sophie as a single woman taking a hard look at her life, then run with her as she tries to sort out which man is right for her and then finally, in Sophie's Encore, you hold her hand as she takes baby steps back towards happiness after she loses it all. I'm glad I had a chance to meet Sophie and Dan because what they have gone through in this series is so very typical of everyone's struggles with true love, life and the decisions that affect it all. Well done Ms. Wells for writing a very well rounded, enjoyable, funny, quirky, serious and sometimes heartbreaking series about a girl who doesn't know what she wants and a man who does. I give the Rock Star Series 5 stars across the board!

Welcome back to Sophie's world! In the long awaited conclusion to the Rock Star Romance Trilogy, author Nicky Wells pulls out all the stops in Sophie's Encore, and rocks her readers' world with an emotional finale that leaves the reader completely spent and satisfied. In this thoroughly entertaining trilogy, the reader has gotten to know Sophie Jones, and has followed her adventures and trials and tribulations that she has encountered in her life. In Sophie's Turn, the reader watched as Sophie had to make a decision of which guy would win her heart when two men proposed to her. Then the reader caught up with Sophie in Sophie's Run, when Sophie had to deal with dramatic trials and tribulations that caused her life to fall apart, but our Sophie bounced back with a happy ending ... a wedding and a surprise announcement! Now in Sophie's Encore, the final installment of Sophie's life adventures, the reader catches up with Sophie a few years later. Sophie's life has changed so much that the reader is at first shocked at what her life has become, only to get swept back into Sophie's dramatic world that includes one mainstay, her complicated relationship with best friend, rock star Dan Hunter. This time when Sophie's life has gone awry and she is struggling to cope with it all, it's Dan who pulls our girl back up by her bootstraps, teaching her the behind the scenes music production technique of mixing music, while encouraging Sophie to move on with her life and a second chance at finding love. In this captivating finale, Sophie's world has come full circle, and author Nicky Wells holds nothing back making sure that the readers have enjoyed the wild emotional roller coaster ride that is Sophie and Dan's story! There is not enough words to say how much I loved author Nicky Wells' Rock Star Romance Trilogy. She captivated my interest and took me on an emotional journey as she weaved a sassy tale of romance and rock-n-roll with each book in the series, easily transporting me into Sophie and Dan's world. I loved the dramatic and complicated relationship that Sophie and Dan shared. As you read each book in the trilogy, the reader has a front row seat watching as their relationship grew, changed, and came full circle. With a great cast of characters who are realistic, engaging, with flaws and issues, and who are easy to relate to; witty dialogue and sassy interactions; richly descriptive and detailed settings; more passionate romance scenes; and a thoroughly entertaining storyline that author Nicky Wells has saved the best for last, Sophie's Encore gives the reader one hell of a finale! The Rock Star Romance Trilogy evokes the full gamut of emotions: love, loss, pain, hate, sadness, hope and happiness. Needless to say, author Nicky Wells takes her readers on a rocking roller coaster ride of a lifetime when they read this trilogy. While each book can be a stand alone read as the author provides flashbacks in each book, I would recommend that the reader reads the books in sequential order as this trilogy is a must read, you won't be disappointed!Job well done Nicky, Rock On!Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from the author / publisher in exchange for my honest review and participation in the virtual book launch tour event hosted by author Nicky Wells.http://jerseygirlbookreviews.blogspot...

This was probably my favorite of the three books in the Rock Star Romance series by Nicky Wells. Sophie’s Encore was well written and had a great story to it that continued things on for Sophie and her hot rock star best friend, Dan.If I hadn’t already fallen in love with Dan in the first two books, I was certainly in love with him by the time I finished Sophie’s Encore.Sophie is picking up the pieces after the tragic death of her husband. She has two small children and is now a single parent. The one constant in all of their lives has been Dan, the Godfather of the children and Sophie’s best friend. Struggling to move on is not something that Sophie is doing well with, but when things get rough and times get too hard, Dan is always there to jump in and lend a hand. Two and a half years have passed since the death of her husband and she is still feeling like she should be in the mourning process somewhere, despite the encouragement of her friends to finally move on. Sophie seems to have tortured herself enough and has her two small kids to look after. She needs to move beyond the grief. The only person that may be able to move her beyond that grief is Dan.Dan is so amazing in this book. If I didn’t love him in the previous books, this book made me fall head over heels for him! He does everything in his power to protect and help Sophie and the kids. They have become a kind of family having Dan in the picture. But Dan has never stopped loving Sophie. Even with all the drama over his illness, I still clung to his character as being top notch and amazing!Until Sophie comes to terms with the loss of her husband, she can’t possibly think of a way to have a future with anyone. It was saddening to see her struggle through the pain and loss, knowing the entire time; she is forced to be strong for her kids.Through memories, Sophie is reminded of what she and Dan shared. She knows that he will always have a place in her heart. But can they do it again? The one thing that kept them apart in the first book may still be the one thing holding her back in this book.I absolutely loved that their story has come full circle. And the way this one ended was heartwarming and touching. I appreciated Sophie’s struggles in Sophie’s Encore and could relate on some level to her. Still a very strong character but again, it was Dan that captured me. Even with his issues and problems, there only seems to be one woman for him. It is endearing and beautiful. The only thing that prevented me from giving this book a full five stars though is that I though there were parts of it that just dragged a little and moved a little slow and the fact that even in the end the infamous “L” word was never used the way it should have been. Not to say that I didn’t appreciate the story, I just felt as if there were lingering moments that could have been shortened for maximum effect.*I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

Nicky you topped the charts with this one!! I have no idea how many times I wrote "Dan is amazing!" in my notes while reading this. Before I go on, I have to warn you that this will contain spoilers if you haven't already read Sophie's Turn and Sophie's Run. You can check out my review for Sophie's Turn HERE. Or, you can check out my review for Sophie's Run HERE.I had a love/hate relationship with Dan in Sophie's Turn, which grew into a love relationship in Sophie's Run. But, I had no idea that could be so expounded upon! Then just when it seemed like Dan couldn't be any more terrific, you see he has an imperfection. This brought about a lot of mystery and suspense that I didn't expect to encounter, but just added to the story. Then you see the way he responds to it, and that just makes you love him all the more! After reading the first book, I am still dumbfounded that Nicky has made me so LOVE Dan!!Then, there's Sophie herself. Sophie has done so much growing up! You get to see her in the mother role and Dan in the substitute dad role, and it's just amazing how much they have grown. Plus, it's all completely believable. The pacing is perfect and you believe and FEEL everything that is happening to them and between them. But, there's also the grieving widow side to Sophie now. I only point this out because I was so surprised that I could feel so bad for her when I knew it was Dan I wanted her with anyway. That just goes back to the "FEEL everything" point! So, I recommend this Rock Star Romance series to EVERYONE that loves a good romance, and if you like rock stars - all the better!! This isn't a shallow love story, though, it has depth. Don't give up after the first book either!! I promise, in the end, it will have made the whole series all the better!!BTW, I'm still hoping to get my hands on Rachel's story!Warnings: strong language and sexual content*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.*

ARC Was Given To Blog For An Honest ReviewWhen we last left Sophie she had it all figured out. She had her man and was starting a family; what more could one ask for? Well life had others plans for Sophie Jones. This book will start with your heart being lodged in your throat. You will be trying to hold back the tears. Sophie has suffered an awful tragedy. She must remain strong, it’s no longer just her. She has two beautiful children she must be the rock for. Throughout this part of her life she has one constant thing. Dan, her rocker, has been there for her through it all. He’s always there when she needs him always waiting in the wings. He has always loved her since before he knew what love was supposed to be. He’s watched her grow and helped her through life’s biggest challenges and her heart’s greatest struggles. Dan comes up with a plan to help Sophie become whole again. While he takes her down this road, old feelings come to surface. He’s given her a new purpose in life, a new experience. They are both too afraid of their feelings to let the other know. Dan has always known they were meant to be but it took him 17 years to find a way. Sophie has always held a special place in her heart for Dan Hunter her rocker. She’s just lived her life and suffered a great loss while waiting for fate to win out. Her life wasn’t easy on this journey but in the end Sophie and Dan got their encore, their chance to shine. This is a rockstar fairy tale complete with the happily ever after.Nicky Wells this has been a crazy journey for me. During the first book I was having a hard time; it’s a crazy story and hard to grasp sometimes. As the second book started I was better off I had more of an understanding of why and was looking forward to what was next. As I started the third and final book I was a little weary. Sophie had her “Thunderbolt and Lightning” man and I was so happy for her. What could go wrong? Well you sent me down a road of tears and anger I just didn’t understand and my heart was broken. While I continued the book I saw exactly why. Sophie and Dan were always meant to be they just needed to bump their heads and learn a few things before they could be. I was overall extremely happy with the series.

I fell madly in love with Sophie back in Sophie's Turn (read my review here). She made me laugh and kept me on a roller coaster ride with her rock star love affair. Her adventures in Sophie's Run kept me glued to the Kindle (read my review here), even if I didn't completely agree with her choices. I couldn't wait for this third and final installment to be done and was honored when Nicky contacted me with an advance review copy. It did not disappoint.Sophie has been through a lot in the past several years since we left her. She is now the proud mother of a little boy and girl. She is also a single mom, having lost Steve a few years ago. Dan has been by her side, the ever-doting best friend who is still obviously madly in love with her. She is still in love with him, but can't seem to admit it to herself and feels guilty for even thinking so. She has to learn to let go and to forgive herself and Steve, so that she can move on and start her life up again. It's not an easy task, but our fearless heroine is equal to the task when she sets her mind to it.You can already guess how this story is going to end. I was a little confused in the first few chapters, until I got all of the backstory about what had happened during the past few years, and then I could see the path unfold. The little tricks and turns along the way are what keep you foraging ahead to get to that wonderful ending. I love the choices that Sophie makes for her life and how she finds herself again. It's a total dream come true for her, and one that I wouldn't mind living in some bits and pieces. After all, don't we all have that rockstar fantasy?Reading through this final installment in the series gave me the hankering for going back and rereading the entire series. You can see how Dan and Sophie's relationship comes full circle and want to experience the entire saga all at once. For those looking into this series, I recommend reading it in order, so that you don't miss out on a single morsel of this relationship.I am going to miss Sophie and Dan, but look forward to some future offerings that Nicky has planned for us readers!

I had a real love/hate relationship with rock star and manwhore Dan in the first two books and every time I hoped he would redeem himself, he would go and do something else stupid to mess things up again. Being put into the "friend zone" at the end of book 2 was where he was to stay for a while and with the happy events we were left feeling all was well with the world. But NOPE, not happening...the first few pages made it very apparent that something catastrophic had happened and we don't really get the whole story until later in the book in flashback moments of the tragedy that Sophie endured. This book is more serious and less light than the first two and we see yet another transformation in Sophie as she slowly learns to fly again and heads in an entirely different (but not completely unexpected) direction with her that puts her immersed in Dan's world and makes for a sweet turnaround in their relationship.I love how the story comes full circle back to Dan being once again in the forefront of Sophie's life and in a very domestic and fatherly capacity. The man has also grown up and become a better person and together these two live up to their full potential. The ending was perfect for me...bittersweet and yet somehow SO right. Rachel gets her HEA as well as provides some comedic relief as she experiences motherhood for the first time. This was a very enjoyable and well written romantic comedy series with a musical background and more intimate than sexually explicit. Highly recommend to romance readers of all genres...hard enough for rock lovers and sweet enough for contemporary romance lovers.***** 5 ***** "the encore performance is always the best one" stars

I've become quite fussy about romance books, and read far fewer than I once did, but I always know that I'll have a good quality story (and a well-written one) whenever I pick up a Nicky Wells book. And I had a feeling that the grand finale to Sophie’s story would be a bit special! The opening chapters of Sophie's Encore had me muttering 'What? What happened? How come she has .... why is she feeling ...?!'And with consummate style, Nicky reveals the new Sophie, the Sophie who has had an incredibly tough time, and for one reason or another, has simply forgotten how to be herself. As we're taken through her unfolding story, we encounter tears, sadness, heart-wrenching grief, laughter, giggles (OMG, the tentacles scene!) and importantly, hope: the promise of a happier future.Dan is as wonderful as ever. How can you not love Dan?! Everyone should have a Dan, even if the relationship is platonic! But Dan, being human - despite also being a 'rock god' - has his own issues and challenges and difficulties. And the path of Sophie’s and Dan’s love never has run smooth!Quite aside from following the progress of their relationship, I really enjoyed being introduced to the art of mixing and mastering raw music tracks, and I loved the analogies used to explain the magic, the instincts, and the skill behind that process. Not only was it interesting, it was explained and developed in a way that really enhanced the story. There are also a couple of new characters - initials J and E - who had some show-stealing moments of their own, and of whom I have become rather fond! All in all, immensely enjoyable and a fitting end to the Sophie Rock Star Romance Trilogy.

Sophie's Encore is the third and final instalment in the Rock Star Romance series and follows Sophie from her marriage to Steve. Sophie's life has not panned out exactly as she had dreamed it would. Life has played a cruel trick on her and Sophie suddenly finds herself needing her rock star best friend more than ever. Dan is determined to help Sophie in her hour of need. Will Dan be able to be the friend Sophie needs him to be? Will Sophie be drawn once again into the rock and roll lifestyle that had once intrigued her so much? Or, is there too much at stake this time?Nicky Wells has really outdone herself! After reading the second book, Sophie’s Run, I was desperate to find out what life held in store for Sophie and Dan. I was not disappointed. Nicky Wells has created such fascinating characters in this series that as a reader I found myself drawn into their lives. I cried with them. I laughed with them. I got frustrated with them! I adore Sophie’s take on life. I love her combined sassiness and vulnerability. And, don’t even get me started on Dan. Oh lovely Dan. Oh sexy Dan! Dan rocked my world! Where can I find a man like Dan!?? I fell in love all over again with him. So determined and desperate was I to find out how the book ended, that I hid in the photocopy room in work to finish the book! It’s really that good! I can’t recommend this series highly enough. Sophie’s Encore was truly wonderful. I’m not sure I will cope if that’s the last we hear from Dan and Sophie! Bravo Nicky Wells for such a fantastic book. Highly recommended!

Sophie's Encore is a fantastic story written by the outstanding author Nicky Wells. It's been such an amazing journey going through this with Dan that has left me get boring. Although I haven't read book one just yet, book two and three have been spectacular. I had never felt so many emotions put into one book. And that's what you get when reading these books, just wave of emotions hitting you. Book 2 really did it for me especially that scene where A certain someone has her moment and experiences love at first sight wow just wow. It blew me away reading that part it honestly felt so real. And in this installment Nicky never fails to impress. She does a fantastic job writing and putting everything into one book. Which shows how awesome she is.I loved everything about this book especially the falling for your other half part. It was beautiful in every way, the ending was fantastic. It really did blow me away halfway through it I could already see what was going to happen in a way but only cause it was my dream in a way. What can I say you fall in love in this book over and over again. I enjoyed reading it, it was beautiful. There is really no good way to explain it cause it leaves you at a loss of words. 5/5 stars

Book recieved as part of the goodreads First Reads giveaways.I wasn't too sure what to expect from this, the blurb made it sound like a stereotypical romance novel featuring a nice normal girl and a rock star, yet it's a part of a trilogy and quite honestly was far more of a substantial feeling paperback than most generic romance novels. So getting started I appeciated the opening chapters with Sophie and her best friend talking about how things had changed as it meant that with no knowledge of the earlier books I felt fairly up to speed on the other characters and their place in the ladies lives.Wells managed to make Sophie's life seem believeable, blending her family obligations with her learning her new career and finally admitting her feelings towards her rock star best guy friend. The authors background knowledge and love of music shines through without being pushed in your face in a patronising manner, technical information given without leaving the reader feeling talked down to.I thoroughly enjoyed this and am grateful for the chance to go outside my usual reading genres and explore something new - am on the look out now for the first two books in the trilogy.

WOW – Nicky really has left the best for last. I really enjoyed reading the first two books but Sophie’s Encore is in a league of its own!I was so glued to the pages, I used every available minute to read this book (yes, even whilst eating my breakfast – trying not to get any chocolate spread onto my kindle…).I had not read the blurb beforehand and could’t quite believe what had happened to Sophie during the past couple of years. I would have never anticipated this turn of events.I just love Sophie. Her energy is contagious. The way she hits rock bottom and slowly but steadily finds her happily ever after is brilliantly narrated! This book really showcases that there is always light at the end of the tunnel and who knows, you might just find your rock star along the way :-) .The last few pages of Sophie’s Encore plastered a huge grin on my face. What a fantastic and romantic way to end this book! Only downside: This is the last part of the trilogy. Sniff. I will truly miss Sophie’s adventures.

free book for free reviewThis was a very good ending to Nicky Wells’ Rock Star trilogy. Sophie Penhalligan-Jones finally had everything going right in her life when a tragedy occurred. Her best friend, rock star Dan stepped up to help Sophie through her grief. Sophie had been busy raising babies and hadn't worked in a few years, so Dan helped her get back on her feet in a new career. Can Sophie and Dan's friendship survive maybe taking things to the next step this time, when it didn't survive past friendship in the past? This last installment in Nicky Wells Rock Star series did not disappoint. It was sad to the point of bringing me to tears in parts, and exciting to the point of not being able to wait to see what happens next in others and loving and sweet all the way through. I'm sad to see it end, but happy to be able to share Sophie's life. I look forward to reading more from Nicky Wells.-Donna Flint-

What a fabulous ending to Sophie's story! Nicky Wells is a breathtaking storyteller who really captures the essence of her characters and their lives. This part of story seemed to have matured right along with the characters themselves - taking place several years after the end of the last book. So the romance angle is more heartfelt, sincere, deep and abiding than the original teenaged, star-struck journey of Sophie's Turn. I don't want to say too much because I feel there's too much to give away by saying what bits I liked and whatnot. But I will say that one of the best tricks in this story is that it was written just as much for someone who had read the first two books in the series as someone who hadn't (or perhaps someone who has a bad memory - like me). Tiny bits here and there served as either gentle reminders or necessary backstory to this wonderful conclusion. So... even if you haven't read books 1 & 2, read this book!

As you may have gotten from my pervious reviews of the first two books in this series, I am a Nicky Wells fan. The great part about the Sophie books is that they deliver in ways that you couldn't expect or imagine. In book three, Sophie is back, having had her life turned upside down—AGAIN. The one constant? Rock star, Dan Hunter. Will the two get together in the end? Or will there be someone else for Sophie? If you're searching for an addictive romance that ticks all the boxes, check out Nicky Wells and fall in love with her characters.

I received a copy of Sophie’s Encore in exchange for an honest review.I’ve been having a blast with the series, and I was so anxious to get to the third and final book. What an emotional roller coaster we go through right at the beginning! I don’t like giving away too much in my reviews, so I have a feeling this might be difficult to write. What I will say – fabulous conclusion to Sophie’s journey. It was terrific to see her get a happy ending. Dan is such a blast to read about, especially this version of a more mature Dan. It’s impossible not to root for Sophie and if you haven’t read any of her books yet – get on it! Such a wonderful trilogy.

Reading this 3rd installment was like visiting with old friends. I cuddled up with my blanket and tea and devoured this book. Rachel is the best friend a person could ever have - if she were real I would make her move next door to me. Nicky has true talent – she can describe the most normal of days and make them the most interesting things you’ve ever read. I love Sophie and Dan - what they have endured embodies many of our struggles with life – and with love – and the decisions they make and the road to happily ever after ……was not an easy path. I fell in love with Dan – my new book boyfriend. Another unputdownable book. Bravo Nicky!!!

It's been a couple of months since I read the second part of the series, so it was nice to revisit Sophie and Dan, but it was also sad to say goodbye! I loved the introduction of Sophie's children - Josh and Emily. They were adorable as was their relationship with their Godfather Dan. I liked how the author respected Sophie's relationship with Steve and gave it the attention it deserved before rushing into her renewed feelings for Dan (which we knew were coming). I particularly appreciated how the story came full circle at the end, bringing us back to elements of the first part of the series. It was very clever and touching. I definitely enjoyed this trilogy! Rock on!

The angst never reached the torturous heights of the Groupie series but this series was quite well-written and humorous and never repetitive. The road to that HEA was so long and fraught with so many detours, I was beginning to doubt that we'd ever get there.

Yay! I loved the conclusion to this series! Sophie is her normal self, though a bit less neurotic and Dan is still our Rock God, just a bit more grown up.Great story and the perfect end to the series! This is definitely one to pick up.
