Thinking these rich kids are going to be snobbish and rude, she’s surprised to find the Vaughn name means she is untouchable. Well unless your name is Channing Southerland. Paisley has to navigate her new life and all the new people in it. While her mother might have lied about her grandparents, no one is lying about Channing. He’s beautiful, mean, arrogant, and turning her on. Before long a war is fought, leaving Paisley wondering if she’ll be ruined or made. Though she might just fall irrevocably in love....

This was my first book by Amanda Heath and it didn't leave a great impression. I found myself skimming the last 30% just to get it over with. This book kind of reminded me of Tijan's Fallen Crest High. New girl comes to town and she automatically becomes part of the in-crowd. No one will touch her and of course she catches the eye of the guy everyone wants. I couldn't stand Paisley. She was full of herself, annoying and a jealous psycho. If Channing so much as talked to another girl, she'd flip out. It drove me nuts. Then she supposedly took care of her sister Bebe and was like a mom to her. But the second she gets to her grandparent's house, she never sees her. She was so self-centered. Channing was also a jealous psycho. His reaction to Paisley at the beginning was bizarre - hating her for really no reason but then screwing her on the hood of her car. I couldn't stand the two of them together - the instalove and 'baby this' and 'baby that'. They acted like immature five year olds at certain points and then at others like horny 30 year olds. The setting seemed more appropriate for college students rather than high school students. Overall, I can't even find anything redeeming about this book. Even writing this review is annoying me all over again.

5 TOTALLY AWESOME STARS!!!I'm on such a book high that I don't even know what to say, so I shall leave this review short and sweet... Paisley had a terrible up bringing, her mum more worried about drugs than Paisley and her baby sister BeeBee, living in a trailer with no food and wondering if there will be enough money for bills also having to look after her 2 year old sister, acting more like her mother and all of this being at the age of 17! Right from the start I love Paisley she never moaned she just got on with it, such a kickass sassy heroine... All of a sudden her life changes when her mum dies of an overdose and her very rich Grandmother comes to take Paisley and BeeBee away from the trailer and 5 hours away to a very rich very different environment. This is where she meets Channing, oh boy is he a total douchebag I wanted to punch him in the face multiple times and then kiss it better seriously I had terrible whiplash from this boy.. you learn to fall head over heels in love with Channing and you find out that this teenage boy has a lot of baggage under his serious mask. He wanted to stay far away from Paisley but he just didn't have the strength, he needed her like he needed his next breath, then the butterflies come and the very hot, steamy scenes phewwww!! I bought this book on a chance as it was on sale on Amazon for 77p and I would of easily paid more than that for this story, it blew me away and was something I was craving, how can you not love High School drama with rich kids, and first loves!! I absolutely loved all of their friends and Paisleys two cousins Brody and Kellen.. Next is Royals book which is Channing's best friend and I seriously cant wait till it comes out Royal is just as hot as Channing *happy dance*A hell of a lot of twist and turns, drama and family secrecy in this book that kept me on my toes and stopped me from wanting to put this book down. Move over Channing Tatum there is a new Channing in town.. Channing freaking Southerland swooooon!

That was unexpectedly good!!! I didn't see it coming...It was extremly delightful to read it!!!!Oh, Bloody Hell!!! I actually enjoyed it more than too much!!!Paisley grew up difficult... She was living in an awful house with an awful addicted mother and a little baby sister. Her mother didn't give a damn about her daughter and Paisley was took care her sister all by herself. Their life sucked!!! Until one day, when she was returning home from school found her mother dead. And just like that her life started to change...Apparently her mother was coming from a wealthy old family, which took her and her sister under their protection!!! And just from nowhere Paisley acquire lots of money, a big family, a big house, new school, new friends and... Channing!!!Channing was tall, sexy, handsome, arrogant and emotionless. He doesn't speak too much, but when he decided to talk he says mean and ugly things... which made Paisley go mad and fight back in this shitty war that he had open against her....The sensual tension between them were so damn hot!!! But both of them insist that nothing's going on between them!!!The people who surrounds them they are one by one!!! They were all of them enjoyable!!! But i will not talk about them because they are coming in the next books!!!Whoa!!! Once again!!!!!

2.5 MAYBE 3 MAKE ME STARS.I have conflicting thoughts about this book, on the one hand the storyline held my attention and there was some highlight-worthy scenes that made me smile. On the other hand there was editing issues, obvious mistakes and some of the content was cringe worthy embarrassing. I never felt like giving the story up, but it wasn't a book that stands out from the rest. Full review to come, maybe ...

What a crock of shit!!! I didn't finish it but I'm going to give it 2 stars. Even though this author can't write for shit, she can make up a good story. The idea of this story is good but she adds way to much shit that doesn't need to be there, she makes problems in the relashionship that really didn't need to be there. It just made paisley come across as a childish idiot. She tryed to make Channing into a moody, sexy lost soul, in stead he was more anoying and i would have told that dude to go take his face for a shit a long time ago.Like I said, the idea of the story was good but she was no good at writing or telling it. It was childish and down right hard to keep reading the endless shit rolling down my iPad screen. She contradicts herself over and over again and that really annoyed me. She forever keeps saying "Channing never smiles, only like once a week," yet every two or three pages she says "Channing giggles,"<----- hold the fuck on, how the fuck do you giggle if you can't smile. He only smiled yesterday so how the fuck is he giggling three times the next day???? "He reads my message and bursts out laughing," WTF he doesn't just laugh, he BURSTS out laughing.. WHAT? HOW? HE CANT SMILE FOR FUCK SAKE!!!!! ARRR "I know he doesn't want anyone to know we are together and how he feels about me because he doesn't like people staring at him," two pages later "We all know how he feels about me," NO, NO WE DONT BECAUSE YOU TOLD US TWO FUCKING PAGES AGO THAT NO ONE KNOWS!!! MAKE YOUR GOD DAMB MIND UP WOMAN!!I could go on all day with this shit but it's making me mad, so I won't.I can't even begin to stress about how mad I am right now. I read one good book and think I'm out of my book flunk, but no. I happend to come across one good book and now it seems I need to fill my time with endless bullshit like this till a good author brings me my next fix :( crys uncontrollably.

WOW.I have no words.Make me is such an amazingly amazing book, It is soooooo one of my favourites now.I FREAKING LOVE CHANNING SOUTHERLAND, I REALLY DO!Please. I beg of you, get into my bed. I need you when 'Auntie Flow' comes for a visit too, so adorable. I LOVE IT.So many intense, sweet, swoonworthy, mouthwatering, hot all consuming moments. When I open the door, Channing is standing there. My breath hitches and my stomach clenches. He put his sunglasses back on, so I can’t see what he’s thinking. He never says a word, but he movesthe hair from my shoulder. My chest flutters at the light touch and my palms get sweaty. He leans overit, placing a sweet kiss there. It’s like he’s trying to kiss my booboo better. I think I might swoon. It seems as if we kissed for hours but I’m sure it was twenty minutes. He lets go first, lifting hislips from mine and placing a kiss on my forehead. I continue to stare up at him, wondering what thehell I’m supposed to do here. Then he takes that thought from me, by moving my face with his fingerback to the screen. “Watch the movie, baby,” he whispers next to my ear.Other than being this wonderful, sweet, possessive, sexy, alpha male, he's also a closet poet, yes i know, what a cutie!

A very different and modern twist on the Snow White fairytale I think. I love Paisley and the fact the she sticks up for herself and her fiery attitude. I love the mystery and coldness that Channing holds except when he's around Paisley. I loved the hot and dirty side of both of these two and I loved Channing's sweet side too. I think all guys could learn a lesson or two from him ;) The chocolate and tablets scene is probably my favourite. The way the author started each and every individual off with a very deep and dark side then changes most of them subtly to something beautiful and almost magical (excuse my cringy-ness) is amazing and it really does seem like a very clever and modern take of Snow White to me. Channing and Paisley started of with a bang but ended up with their own happily-ever-after. I strongly recommend it to fans of YA/NA reads with a hint of dark and alpha-ness. I can't wait to read Royals and Wesleys story now! :D Paisley - you are sooo right :DEnjoy!

CHANNING TATUM WHO??? More like Channing freakin' Southerland! Amanda's best work to date! I love reading her books she makes you fall in love with her characters and boy did she make me fall in love with Channing. And normally it takes awhile for me to like the female characters in any book but that wasn't the case with Paisley, girl gots balls! "Look buddy, I may not want all this money, but don't you ever come in here and tell me what to do. If it were taken from me right now, I wouldn't care. The only thing I care about is in that house. My little sister is the only family I know and these people have custody of her. I want to be in her life, and there's nothing you can do to stop me." Channing he's well endowed ladies and well sometimes a girl just can't help herself, "he's got morning wood and let's just say even from here, I can tell he's big. A blush burns over my face before I move my eyes back up his face and let out a shocked gasp. He's looking at me, fully awake. There's a smirk on his full lips and his eyes shine with laughter." He may be tad bit cocky as well, "if you don't want me to take you right here against the cafeteria tables, I suggest you stop toying with me." He whispers right in my ear." He's also possessive when it comes to Paisley, "I don't want you to be with other guys. I know that s*** with Royal was fake, so I'll let that go. I haven't been with another girl since i met you." And when they finally do commit to a damn relationship my panties get more soaked with how he treats her, "then you're mine, baby." And he says the nicest things to make her feel better, "baby, you can kick me in the nuts and you still wouldn't keep me from sleeping next to you." Isn't that sweet? There are times he needs to put Paisley in her place when she's not sure which way is up, "yes Paisley. You're my effing girlfriend. Get used to it. You'll have that title until I put a ring on your finger." Yeppers I'll be getting me this in paperback.

I have no idea how the author made this crap of a book sooo damn good. i actually ended up liking it a lot. The characters where high school students but the acted like juniors in college, the drama was endless, and the hot scenes where too hot for the two seventeen years old students. smh. BUT!!! i think that why i liked it, because it was not what i was expecting from a "ya" book. My Cast!CHANNING--> PAISLEY--> and --> and me --> sigh**

I really enjoyed the plot of this novel, I really did... however, because there is always a however, I didn't feel the writing was particularly great... though the storyline was more than good enough to make up for some of the short comings in the writing. All in all, I enjoyed it!

Sometimes we just all need some good old fashioned escapism. And that is what I found "Make Me" to be. We've got Paisley and her baby sister, BeeBee, living in squalor with their drug addicted mother. Paisley is trying to finish her last year of High School and waiting till she turns 18 so she can become "emancipated" and get the hell out with her baby sister. She's been placed in the role of being an adult child and mother and has learned to count on only herself.Quite a bit of drama going on in this novel for let's face it, it's a mixture of Twilight heavy angst without the paranormal, The A List, and Gossip Girl all wrapped up into one Cinderella type story. After Paisley walks in and finds her mother dead of an overdose, she is literally faced with her grandmother she never knew about, a life she never knew existed, and more money than King George. She and her little sister are whisked away into a wealthy Twilight Zone.[image error]Paisley is thrown into MONEY and a life that is foreign to her but she takes that "take no prisoners" attitude and gives as good as she gets. Her first day of school sort of reminds me of this:[image error]Total hotness and bitchiness and Channing fucking Southerland.[image error]These two clash from the start but in typical high school fashion they hate that they want :):) And they do get what they want. I have to say that the lifestyle these 17 yrs old lived was far beyond my realm of reality :) But what the hell? That's fiction!Paisley and Channing both have to learn some tough lessons about those who claim to love you and protect you and there is a twist thrown in near the end with the grandparents. As I said before, this is more of escapism for me. And I want to also say that I felt the author could have delved more in depth into so many of the love/hate relationships going on but I'm thinking those are left for the future books. There is a cliffhanger and I think I know who "it" is but will have to wait and see :):)All in all, a fun escape into another world Gossip Girl kind of book!

The premise for this story is not a new one. Paisley has grown up with a druggie mum who couldn't care less about her or BeeBee, her sister. Paisley comes home one day and finds her mum has died from an overdose. Almost immediately she finds someone at her door who says she is her grandmother, her mums mum. She demands both Paisley and BeeBee leave to live with her as that is where they belong. Paisley soon discovers she is rich due to a legacy left by her father. This is where the story got a little boring for me. In comes a good looking guy in the form of Channing. He and Paisley take an instant dislike to each other, yet we all know they will end up together in the end.As the story goes on it seems to go too quickly, and is a bit unrealistic at times. The way both Paisley and Channing seem to go off the rails at times just doesn't ring true a lot to me.There were also quite a lot of grammar and spelling issues throughout the book which, although it didn't ruin the story, certainly detracted from it for me. Don't get me wrong, the story will appeal to others more than it did me, as other reviews definitely show. Unfortunately this just wasn't a story which drew me in as much as others I have read. The endings a cliffhanger, and I won't lie, it does make me interested in reading the next book. But all in all this book was a little disappointing to me.

A very quick read.I'm so pissed right now, because this book had so much potential. I honestly have no idea how it has a 4.04 rating. I've read MUCH better books with lower ratings.I personally wouldnt recommend the book to anyone. It needs to undergo more proofreading. The grammar was awful. Half of the time, I had to reread the same line numerous times to understsnd.I liked the storyline a lot (the only reason I kept on reading it because I wanted to know what would happen). The book was rushed. It absolutely pissed me off, because the author didn't explore Paisley and Channing's relationship. I wish the authornadded more information about Paisley's father. The book spanned from senior hear into summer. The only focused points in the story was a few days in school, a few parties, and in her living quarters. There were a lot of character relationships that could've been more thorougly explored. Like with Brody and Kellan, Rachel and Royal. The ending was absolutely awful. It ends with a "cliffhanger" so you can read the next book in the series.... If this book had more meat packed on, then it would've been MUCH better.

This would have been a 4 star for me had Channing's mother not been in it. I have no idea why the author added that crap about her. I felt it was really unnecessary and I'm still having nightmares about such a thing...It was so sick and gross!

I quite liked this book. I pretty much liked the characters even though some reviews on goodreads tell me that most of the people who read this book didn't like the characters at all.I liked how Channing changed when he met Paisley. what I missed in this book was Paisleys little sister. I thought she would take care of her but after she moved to her grandparents BeBe was forgotten. Too bad. I really was interested in this relationship between her and her two year old sister :)

This rating is largely based on entertainment value. It is a YA book about two high school students who fall in love amidst high-school angst and drama. I typically can't stand high-school characters, because they are usually too immature for me. I think these characters weren't quite so bad, but Amanda Heath still did an excellent job of writing a story that kept me interested the whole way through.I will say, though, this book was very difficult to rate, and frankly to just judge overall. I felt like the main character, the heroine, Paisley, who is only 17 was usually pretty mature for her age. Yet, most of my issues with this book could be chalked up to the fact that she is only a teenager. But I don't know whether to excuse the pitfalls in the storyline as such, or whether I should call it bad writing (hence, my rating based on entertainment value). So, quickly, this book is about Paisley, whose mom (a druggie) dies, thus Paisley and her two-year-old sister is sent to live with her mother's parents who are rich. Upon their arrival into this new world, Paisley learns she has quite an inheritance and is more or less queen of her new school. But none of that really matters to her. No, her attention is focused on Channing Southerland, the boy who doesn't want her around, but whom she can't seem to quit noticing. Shock of all shocks, Channing is just using high-school-style tactics to avoid his feelings for Paisley, and they ended up falling for each other, alongside a bunch of other drama happening. So one of my biggest issues with this story is that for the first two years of Paisley's little sister, BeeBee's life, Paisley is basically her mom. She has been her caretaker while she isn't in school. After her mother dies and her grandmother comes to collect her, she shows how fiercely protective she is of BeeBee by making sure they are separated and that she is going to be taken care of. However, it feels like the second she steps foot into her new life, she drops out of BeeBee's life almost totally. She basically just goes and visits her occasionally. I get the premise the author was trying to set up that Paisley was just learning to a teenager and showed some of her early struggles to let someone else raise BeeBee because she, herself, is only 17. However, the author builds Paisley to be a feisty, independent girl who is often selfish, and does what she wants a lot. Thus, it is hard for me to decide just how much this is either bad writing or how a teenager acts. If this happened in real life, I'd credit the teenager thing easily, but it's not real life, so I just don't know how to judge it.That is the other thing that bugged me a lot, was how selfish Paisley was. It wasn't the kind of selfish where she hurt others. She generally nice, if not blunt, to others. But, when it didn't effect others, she almost always chose to just do whatever she wanted, and she'd be damned what anyone else thought. I understand a lot of this has to do with her upbringing and her age. It isn't so much a critique on the writing but a critique on my reading. I think this immature selfishness made it harder for me to connect to Paisley, and really like her. Yes, overall I didn't connect and like her, but I didn't love her. I think the young characters really prohibited that from happening in this book. I will also mentioned that as far as characters go, I really enjoyed this cast of personalities. I thought all the supporting characters were interesting and amusing, and they make me want to keep reading more in the series.

SynopsisMake Me is the first book in the Make or Break series by Amanda Heath. It follows Paisley Vaugh, who lives in a trailer park with her two year old sister and drug-user mum. After her mum OD's she is forced to live with her maternal grandparents, which isn't so bad until she meets Channing Southerland. But obviously that situation gets better. Thoughts:I feel it was a bit dramatic at times. The way Paisley described things; namely Channing felt a little over the top. She kept on repeating that she felt really strongly towards Channing, but she didn't like him 'in that way'. It really annoyed me. Also how she referred to Channing's eyes or voice as "Smoky" so many times. I read this on my Kindle so I searched how many times the word 'smoky' was used, just out of curiosity; 20 times. Now I'm second guessing how to spell the word.Paisley is cool, her love for her sister is really sweet. The way she handles having to move after her mother's death and having to adapt to a new way of life was very interesting. She kind of took each day as it was and didn't whinge. Channing was interesting. As a character, holy crap he was very closed and I didn't really get any information about him until the very end, when he began to open up. The way he grew and changed over the course of the novel was good. But i can say one thing, I wont forget his eyes for a while. It was drilled into my head from the very beginning. I will share some insight:"...I see a pair of smoky blue eyes. I nearly groan in frustration.""I’m about to turn him down when my eyes meet a pair of sexy smoky blues.""I look to meet a pair of beautiful smoky eyes.""I honestly think it’s the loneliness I see in his smoky eyes."Paisley says she can see Channing's emotions in his eyes; all I could see was smoke. I can't imagine why. The whole Grandparent issue kind of confused me. I don't understand what Miranda (Paisley's maternal grandma) has against Margaret (Paisley's paternal grandma). Miranda seems to hate Margaret but Margaret is indifferent to Miranda. Also why did Heath have to name them so similarly! That doesn't help with my confusion. I'm just going to let it go...And the brutal brutal cliff hanger at the end... fucking hell. Who ends a book like that! And then puts: "Coming 2014…" for the next one. My legit reaction:I can't wait for the next book. I wish this one ended a bit differently like added one little name Jesus Christ, but overall it was a nice light read that popped my dystopian bubble that I was stuck in.

3 1/2 Stars for MAKE ME ....Make Me Well, this was my first book of MS. Heath and it was a fun read that was for sure, easy and fast ... not so much angst and some steam to it.I had this one on my kindle since I don’t remember when, but never got around to read it … so I finally went ahead. It was a bit fast , I mean things just kept happening one on top of the next , and is lacking in the edit department ( but who am I to say anything about that! I have horrible spelling, BUT I do have Spanish as a first language!!) But not enough to distract me from the storyThe story was sweet, it put me off a little bit the way the heroine was depicted, it kind of ticks me when authors make their character describe them self and how beautiful they are …. ( like oh I’m dirt poor but I’m really gorgeous and my hair is beautiful and my genes are so good and I have no food but my muscles are toned ) Buuuuut the leading men was adorable, I could very easy picture him and his brooding ways. I was expecting a bit more sizzle though, they kept insinuating about how passionate the lead was , but it was just ok for me.They had a very fun bickering with each other, they kind of love hating on one another. >b<“From the moment I met you, I wanted nothing to do with you. If you want a war, then I’ll bring it. But don’t think you’re going to get off on bossing me around. I don’t care about your money or your body.”>b<Paysley (our main character) was a tough girl from the trailer park, with a drug addict mom and a little sister. She seemed to be much adjusted and accepting of that life, which was weird … but ... ok It was hard for me to understand how she went along so easy in to that change of life, but whatever, I just went along with the ride I guess …Well the book is a really easy read, it tried to touch some heavy topics, but it was very poorly developed, so I’m just seeing it as a light story … >b<"Make me, Channing. Make me fall. Push me, shove me, just make sure I get there.” I shout at him, taking a step back. His eyes clash with mine. I read the challenge there, making me take another step back. He stalks the few steps to me and grabs my arms slamming his forehead down on mine, “I’ll make you.” His lips skim against mine as he continues to speak, “And I’ll be falling right there with you.">b<If you want an easy, nice, entertaining, story, with a lovely handsome guy, you got it with this one.

Reviewed by [email protected] Stars ReviewsMake Me begins when Paisley comes home to find her mother dead. She now thinks she's going to have to find a way to take care of herself, and her two year old sister more than she already had been. That is until her mother's mom shows up saying that she actually is really rich, and to come live with them. Now Paisley is known as the girl no one messes with because of her last name, and her father's last name. That is except for Channing. He doesn't care about her name, and she doesn't care about his either. They each have an instant dislike for each other, but really that dislike may be hiding a deeper emotion neither one of them are ready to admit. This book was really good! The plot line, and the characters were very captivating, and exciting. Things I LOVED:1) The way Paisley acts. She doesn't care about anyone's status, and she wasn't afraid to stand up to Channing. She also didn't go "goo goo" over him after they had a few steamy encounters. 2) The way Channing acts towards Paisley when they get together. He is totally an "alpha male" and it was so hot!3)And the ending was good, I loved that cliffhanger! And I never love Cliffhangers. The rest of the book I really liked, especially the whole plot. The only thing I can say I didn't like were the fact that once Channing and Paisley got together the book seemed to go really fast and give up on a lot of drama... Or well interesting drama.
