This was a pretty good book. The characters were interesting though a few were a little thin. The odd thing about this one is that for the most part it reads like a fantasy story with adventuring through the wilderness with swords, castles, and a touch of magic. However, this civilization has space travel. However, the use of technology is few and far between and is almost looked down upon as evil. The inconsistent use of tech tended to pull me out of the story. Part of this disconnect could also be a lack of description of some of the places visited or items used by the characters.I received this book for free through the GoodReads First Reads program.

To start with this book seemed immature.....both in how it was written and the characters storyline. But as the book progressed it all came together very well. The characters became flesh and bone and the storyline took some great turns.
