In her trunk...one dead body linked to warring crime families in Denver and New York. It should be easy for an innocent woman to be cleared for an innocent mix-up. But was it a mistake? The police aren't so sure, and neither is the crime boss who wants vengeance for his son-in-law's death. You see, Anna Scott didn't exist a couple of years ago, she knows way too much about criminal procedures and about talking to cops. Anna Scott has a secret, and this twist of fate could not only expose her, but place her and anyone close to her in danger.Jake Griffin is playing a dangerous game. He's spent the last few months undercover in the Moretti crime family. Anna Scott is a problem. Moretti assigns him to find out who she is, what she wants, and to kill her if she's a threat. Jake needs to keep his nose clean and focus on taking down Moretti, not a sexy woman who is a complete mystery. He can't stop thinking about her; her knowledge, her name, her dangerous associates, her fear, or the bone deep desire every time he sees her. Nick's at war with the whole world over one alluring, yet vulnerable woman, and he can't seem to stop taking dangerous chances where she's concerned. The most dangerous of all might be trusting her with the truth....

Hot Pursuit 1 Reviews
I’m always leery reading a new author not knowing what to expect from them. Well I need not have worried as this book has one of the best first chapters I’ve ever read. I even wanted to go back and re-read it – it was that good!!! I didn’t know going in this was a serial series. This was just part 1 which was a little bit of a bummer because the story is captivating and the main characters were so intriguing that I don’t want to wait for the rest of the story. Another big surprise was the heroine Anna Scott. Sometimes heroines in RS books are TSTL or just annoying with the trouble they manage to get themselves into. Well this little lady can take care of herself and not in a bad ass type of way. I don’t want to give too much away about her as I think you should experience Anna reading the book. Now onto the hero Jake who’s undercover with a crime family in Colorado with the name Nick. Mmmm hot hot. The chemistry between Jake/Nick and Anna was off the charts but I liked the author didn’t rush them right into bed especially with Anna history plus there is the fact they are both lying to the other about who they really are. This book only scratched the surface of the story and I cant wait for the next installment.
3 stars.Eh. It was alright but it was LONG. This is something I don't say often, but this probably could have been split into 2 books. There are a few issues I had. There is a lot of excess. For example, sometimes we completely repeat what just happened when the characters change POV. Most of it isn't needed. We don't always need the other person's point of the same event when we can already infer their reaction or whatnot from the first character's POV. It ended up being wasted space and brings us backwards in the plot instead of forward. If it doesn't provide anything new then we don't need it. Also, time and time again we hear Anna repeating how lonely she's been, how she didn't knw what to do etc etc. It quickly became repetitive and boring. It was consistently given in the same manner too. At times it was like the same passages had just had been copied and pasted and then tweaked a tad. Overall, again, it was alright. It isn't mind-blowing, but it isn't sucky either.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. When I first started this book I though it was only part 1 and I keep thinking was was definitely going to purchase the rest of the series. Lucky for me this was the entire series in one book! This is how it should be done. Tell the story and keep going. Lots of twists and turns and misunderstandings and hidden identities but love wins in the end. Plenty of heat, plenty of suspense, even some laughs to keep things interesting. Definitely a must read.
Read about this book on a book blog page. I thought it was going go be dull but to my surprise, this introduction to the story, kept me interested.Preordered all books in the series...let's see how it finally unfolds...It needs some action though.
Hot first meet. Grif (the hero) is sexy. Great start to an interesting story. Dead body in the trunk? Yes, that could stir up some trouble! This is a serial, so can't wait for part 2!
