Good storyEasy read ... kept my attention ... just enough steamy bits to make it interesting. Recommended for those that like a good love story.

This was a fluffy southern romance with a bit of mystery stirred in. The attraction suspense between the hero and heroine was the right amount of tension to cause an explosive joining when they finally got together. ;-) This sweet story has the inhabitants of a small town seduced by a sweet "just passing through" woman, but, in reality, she has family ties that are slowly revealed to unlock a 60 year old mystery. While the characters are interesting and several side stories are delivered, the most interesting character is Gran, who, unfortunately, is dead. Her life is revealed as the story progresses and is the driving force behind most of the events. While it was a fun interlude the author gets a wrap on the knuckles about the reveal of the contents of the safe.

Storyline is cute enough with convenient plot devices. I've really marked it down because of the dialogue, repetition, and grammar. The dialogue for characters in Rhode Island and in Protection is really atrocious, and for the RI characters, it's like McGhee read a Jane Austen novel first to get ideas for rich people dialogue. There was tons of repetition: glittering eyes, growling, purring, just phrases recycled again and again. But what really killed me was the grammar. She clearly did not have a proofreader and the grammar and diction were a hindrance to understanding the story.

Never a Dull MomentWow!!!! My only regret about reading this book is that I did not read before now! Living in a small town myself, I could certainly relate to the "gossips" who seemed to know what would happen next before the main characters did! Not only is "Sweet Southern Trouble" a great mystery, it is a great love story!!!!

Loved the story but am so glad I am well educated in English & Literature. The editor of the Kindle edition needs to be fired because there are missing, misspelled and extra words every so often that you must read the sentence out loud so you can get through to the next sentence and not drop the story!

Great storylineThe plot really kept me interested. I laughed out loud at the antics of Becky and the residents of Protection. I would like to have seen a few less typographical errors. But I would still recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a romantic mystery.
