A Christmas thingie for your Christmas holidays 2016 :DFirst read in August 2016, re-read in November 2016. Lovely. With too much sex for my taste, to be honest, but still there was something very touching and real in the story.

I probably say this every year, but I love the Hammer Christmas charity auction stories. They are always especially heartwarming on top of the usual “Hammer heat”, and this year’s is no exception. Neil is putting himself up for auction just to get someone to touch him again, even if it is just for one night. How sad is that? His Master died in an accident two years ago and while Neil needed time to grieve and come to terms with his loss, he is also lonely. Everyone at the Hammer knows what happened, and nobody knows what to do. They are respectful and nice about it, but Neil wants to return to the land of the living, yet has no idea how to do that. Luckily there is the auction which allows him to make the statement of being back without words.Master Dalton is more than interested in Neil, but, like many others, was never sure if his advances would be welcome. He has more at stake than a stranger as well. He is Neil’s best friend, and doesn’t want to ruin that for anything. Seeing Neil up on the stage, in danger of being “sold” to someone else, is enough to make Dalton act. And while he is definitely a Dom, his uncertainty on how to proceed when his heart is involved showed a vulnerability I found very endearing.Neil’s fears and anxiety about what is happening is heartbreaking. He has no self-confidence left, and initially thinks Dalton may just have spent the money to protect him. Or maybe for a pity f*ck. Neil resists letting his attraction get the better of him because he doesn’t want just one night. He is looking for longer term, and doesn’t want to lose his best friend over something temporary. His slow realization that none of his expectations are right was great to watch, and I cheered him on every step of the way. If you like your Christmas stories to contain some kinky and very loving play, if two men who want to go beyond the friendship they already have interest you, and if you’re looking for an emotional read with lots of heat, then you will probably like this short story.NOTE: This book was provided by Torquere Press for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.

Sweet short holiday story in typical Sean Michael fashion. Not for everyone, but fits its purpose admirably. If you are not familiar with this author, then here are some things you need to know to help decide:1. If you don't want to read about a lot of hot sex, then this and most of Sean's stories are not for you.2. This story might be partly set in a BDSM Club, but there is basically none. So... If you want hardcore then avoid. If squeamish, it should be more than fine with a couple of Sirs and very light spanking scene. (This is not always true of Michael's book. Many are set in BDSM worlds and they run the gamut from barely there to hardcore to fetish.)3. The writing style is different in that it uses a more everyday conversational style. Using a lot of pauses and oh etc...

Nothing new from this authorWarning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS. Rating: 5/10This is a sweet premise: two close friends finally finding their way to each other after the death of one’s partner a couple of years before. But there’s nothing unique about it. It’s exactly like most other short Hammer stories I’ve read recently: idealized characters, a bit of conversation, and 85% sex.

Need for Sale by author Sean Michael is a sweet story of Neil finding love where he least expected to find it. Neil has been through a lot. He finally feels like he can get past the death of his former master and move on with his life. He puts himself up for auction at Hammer. The person who buys him is his best friend Dalton. At first Neil thinks it is a pity buy. But it turns out Dalton has always wanted Neil. Now he knows Neil is ready to move on he is going to make sure that no one else takes the sub that is his. Watching two friends become lovers is a beautiful thing. Kink thrown in just makes it hotter. When you want a nice holiday romance that is bittersweet and will make you smile this is the book I recommend. You do not have to read the others in the Hammer series to understand this book. I highly recommend them all though they each have different layers to show you and great emotional ties that make me come back for more.Five Shooting Stars!

Liked it a lot. Very cute friends to lovers story set at the famous Christmas Auction in Hammer World. I love the holiday stories bc I get the taste of hammer without having to invest all that time into a whole book. Sometimes a quickie is just what I need ;-)

Another fun holiday addition to the Hammer Series. This is a lighter story about a friend taking a chance for something bigger and the outcome is looking pretty good.
