The Fantasy World of Josephine Wall Reviews
I first saw this in a book store when I was 12 and immediately fell in love with Josephine Wall's art. It had just been my birthday and I had $30 so I bought it. And to this day, 6 years later, I still use it for reference and/or inspiration. :) Looking at one of Wall's paintings is like going to another world! As an artist, Wall is my biggest inspiration. If you are into art or fantasy this is a must have buy!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her artwork! This book is an exceptional, though by no means complete, collection of her work. As I do not have the money or space to buy Josephine Wall originals or high-quality prints, I had previously collected samples of her work through the Leanin' Tree line of greeting cards featuring her artwork and images printed off the internet, but with this book that became largely unneccessary. I now have an easily accessible, high-quality collection of her works - many of which I'd seen before, as well as many I hadn't. I was also lucky enough to be among the first... 200 perhaps?... I forget the number of people exactly, but, anyways, among the first few people to order this book when it was originally published in hardcover, and therefore received a signed copy for the normal sale price. What a great deal!
When I was studying art, my evenings were spent planning paintings like these, with magic and story. I painted unicorns and fairies but when I left the art world for grown ups was begging for something else. I have visited the gallery and studio in dorset where Josephine works and bought this book. There is space for that art. How could there not be? It's enchanting!
I am a big fan of Josephine Wall and her absolutely stunning artwork. To be able to view so much of her creativity in one book is fantastic, and to read small insights into each painting is thrilling.
Besides the fascinating art, Josephine has written a poem or two too! She is an amazing artist - what I like best about her work is that you don't get the whole picture at first glance. You need to have a better look to discover more faces, shapes and beauty.
Love her artwork! Wish more pieces were in it
absolutely stunning, Josephine Walls artwork is something to get lost in again and again
Absolutely beautiful book, I can lose myself in these wonderful artworks. I just wish there were more pages to enjoy.
