I couldn't put it down!I FLEW through this book. Liza's writing flows so smoothly, the editing is meticulous and the suspense was sprinkled in juuuuuuuust the right places to keep me eagerly turning the pages.Oh, and smoking HOTNESS was sprinkled in just the right places too ;)While I wasn't sure how the element of vampires would mesh with this story as the synopsis outlined, it was a unique and interesting spin on vamps that I haven't read before. In a lot of ways, Laura was the hero and the heroine of this story. No shrinking violets here! She had enough self-doubt to make her relatable, but she persevered in a major kick-butt way.Don't get me wrong, Dristan was no pushover. In spite of surrounding circumstances, he knew what he wanted, and that was Laura. He battled his own self-doubt, but he didn't stop until he got what he wanted.I met a lot of engaging characters in this book and hope they each get their own stories in this series. I even got a few good chuckles, and I love Liza's sense of humor and how she wove it into this book.I can't wait to read Rafe's story in book 2, and holy cow, the tension in that one is going to be outstanding, I just know it because the heroine is SO not who I thought it would be!!!BIG FAN of Liza Street!!!

Reviewed at Shifter HavenSavage Yearning delivers everything I look for in Shifter Romance, strong characters, an interesting world build, a definable villain(s), and issues that are important to overcome… and, well, the sexy times just have to sizzle. I found all of that and more in this first story in The Corona Pride series. It’s obvious from the beginning that Laura and Dristan have a history and a connection that simply will not go away. It’s also obvious that Laura is fighting a losing battle with herself over her need for Dristan. There is just enough snark in Laura when we first meet her to show the diverse parts of her personality. She may be fighting the need, but the feeling that Dristan is hers and only hers won’t slip away as easily as she would like. When their need and desire for each other rather explodes in their faces something needs to change … and soon. The world building is smooth, we learn about this pride and their rules slowly through dialogue and reactions. The introduction of the villains is so smooth you might miss it, and even though I was watching for it I have to admit it was effective. And exactly what I would expect of these creatures. Vampires are not sexy nor sparkly in Savage Yearning, they are the vile creatures of old lore, and they make a formidable enemy to these shifters.Overall, this story is compelling, intriguing and so darned sexy. Laura is such a strong character in many ways, yet she has her vulnerabilities as well. She becomes a complete person in this story as she grows, takes charge of her own life while defending the man meant for her, and she was enjoyable to read about. Dristan is a sexy as sin man who knows who the woman for him is, yet his family’s past within the pride is holding him back from Laura in some ways. His self-doubts make him a more human character but they do not define him as he is certainly capable of fighting against pride rule when it’s necessary. I liked this couple very much, and I admit to hoping to run into them again as the series continues. It’s always fun to catch a glimpse of past couples, for me it brings the feel of the “group” or pride a step further into believably.I would definitely recommend Savage Yearning and this entire series to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. You’ll find a strong story, believable characters, a nasty villain and secondary characters that you’ll both dislike and love while hoping for their own stories to be told. Give this one a try, I believe you’ll discover a new author to follow – I know I have.I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

"I was given a free electronic copy of this book by the author, in accordance with the terms of For Love of a Book's Advance Reader Opportunity Program."This book was exactly what I expected - sweet, short, paranormal romance with some action in the background. The characters were well-developed and maintained their personalities throughout the story while at the same time giving some info about the secondary characters. The hero was amazing. His uncaring about status, his self-control when egged on and challenged were just wow. The heroine was a bit too weak for my taste, considering she was supposed to be a guardian, but oh well. Also, there was no real reason why she couldn't be with a hero if she so desired, but ok, some drama was obviously needed (-1 in my cliche evaluation). One thing I just have to say though - I absolutely hated Alpha Marlana. She was just such a bully and so egoistic! Ugh! Hated everything about her, from her "I am the best at everything, obey my orders or else" to her coldness and "I am the most powerful, power-hungry B ever, hear me roar"! And that is the only minus in this book - her miraculous fit of forgiveness and "caring" was just..unbelievable. Why would they want to stay under her rule was just beyond my comprehension. But overall the book was enjoyable, even though 60% of it are sexy times :D Cover - 4Plot - 4Hero- 5Heroine - 4Avoiding cliche - 3Romance - 4Fluency - 4Ending - 3-------------Overall - 3.875

Having previously read the eight books of the Sierra Pride series by this author, I was indeed eager to see where the new series went. While I was surprised by the introduction of a different kind of paranormal creature into this story, I have to say that the author handled the blend of two completely different types of paranormal 'people' extremely well. There really wasn't any mis-blend of characters and I admire the writer for being able to pull two such traditionally different genres of books into one great story. The characters met in this first book about the Corona Pride have their likeability and their dislikeability, but yet again, this is a story that brings together drama, romance and yes, very saucy scenes. These books are explicit with adult scenes and have some coarse language so are not for young/teenage readers, but overall I love this writer's story ideas and her real way of expressing how things happen and what characters are thinking. I look forward to book #2! (I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review)

This is a really good shifter romance, I didn't want to put it down as it's not just a romance but has action that keeps you wanting to find out how it proceeds. Laura is a mountain Lion shifter and her Alpha has given her two choices either leave the pack and join another to become a mate or join the Guardians, the protectors of the pride. Laura can't bare to leave all she calls home, so ops to join the guardians and train hard, plus the training helps take her mind of Dristan. Dristan can't forget the one night they shared, even though Laura doesn't seem to want to know, but then Vampires invade their territory and they are forced to work together. I won't tell you any more as I hate when reviewers say too much and spoil the story for other readers. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Received a copy through bookfunnel. Writing a voluntary review:What I like about this book is it offers a reader a different outtake on shifters. This particular scenario shows individual shifters within a community yet the community is unaware of their existence as shifters. They are just ordinary people so when unusual disappearances occur, the community don't automatically assume the shifters are responsible. Oh and the alpha is a female. This story starts off slow but will grab your attention. Definitely want more of this Pride.

Great shifter bookI really enjoyed this book it has drama, love,an enemy and friends who act like enemies. This book has the sweetest love story I've read in a while. This book has many twists and turns to true love. The fact she broken all traditions to follow her heart makes this one true love book worth reading, can't wait for the next book in the series.

I downloaded Savage Yearning as a free book from Amazon. The story was fairly simplistic, and while not a bad read, it didn't grab me and pull me in. Lots of potential, but lacking an edge and steady pacing. I never really understood the reason the two protagonists couldn't be together, and the Alpha is just a tool with selfish motivations.

First book i have read by this author. A quick read, some mystery goings on,funny moments, sexy scenes. Lion shifters, vampires and humans. An female alpha who rules with an iron hand over her pack. Tristan and Laura are attracted to each other but the alpha has old fashioned ideas about somethings and forbid some mating. not sure about continuing the series

Mountain lion shifter romance.Got to about 29% and stopped. The characters were beyond juvenile and the storyline childish and boring. Not for me.

Forbidden loveDrawn toward each other Laura and Dristan have a complicated relationship. She's favored by the Alpha and he's lowest of the low. But when vampires kidnap her little brother they stop at nothing to get him back, even the Alphas wrath.

You must join the Corona Pack! This first installment in the Corona Pride series is a great way to introduce a new pack of characters and a new series. It grabbed me right away. Dristan and Laura come from opposites side of the pack. Laura's family is in great favor and very close to the alpha while Dristan and his brother are looked down upon because of something their parents did many years ago. They had shared a night of unexpected passion just over a year ago and both felt the draw of their mate but felt to much pressure to act upon it. This story well thought out and blends two paranormal creatures seamlessly. I requested this book as an ARC that I might leave an honest review.

Savage Yearning was a fun read I thoroughly enjoyed. Liza's writing style has brought to life characters who are believable even as they are in the realm of fantasy. I look forward to reading many more of this talented author's stories. While I received an ARC for my honest review, the standard and quality of the book I received to review was by far as good or better than some of the books I have paid for.

Savage Yearning has so much wrapped up in a single book. A second chance love story, fated mates, fighting for justice, fighting a horrendous foe, not to mention some blood curdling action and toe curling sexy times all in one tale. Laura and Dristan grab your heart and take you on their journey of heartbreak and hopefulness. And this mountain lion pride's story is just beginning.

First of all, I love the cooler colors and the overall vibe of this book's cover! But I would have given it five stars anyway, because I was hooked from the start. Laura's character is one I can absolutely picture in real life, and a hunk like Dristan is exactly what I want when reading romance. Add all the excitement of shifters and vampires to the mix, and this book had a little bit of everything, without being overwhelming. I predict this series is going to be even stronger than the already awesome Sierra Pride series, but I'll wait and see once I read each book!
