My Feet Aren't Ugly: A Girl's Guide to Loving Herself from the Inside Out Reviews
Reviewed by Me for TeensReadToo.comFor over a decade, Debra Beck has served as a mentor for young girls, doing workshops and working with girls' groups to provide them with positive and supportive guidance. Drawing upon her own experiences as both a woman and a mother of two daughters, she's combined that with the real-life experiences of the girls she's worked with to write MY FEET AREN'T UGLY. This is a self-help, interactive book designed to help girls love all aspects of themselves. Broken down into nine main parts -- Let's Learn to Like Ourselves, What Are You Afraid Of? Oh, the Dark. Me too!, Are You Creative? Yes, Everyone Is!, Being Healthy - Both Physically and Spiritually, Who is Doing Drugs?, Kids on the Edge - Teen Suicide, Becoming a Woman - But I'm Still a Kid!, Sex! Is There a Price to Pay?, and Have You Started the Healing Yet? -- this is a guide to growing up, and taking control of your thoughts and actions. Ms. Beck manages to provide guidance without sounding preachy, and providing opportunities for internal dialogue and "journal" space to work through scenarios that girls will find easy to relate to. This is a great guide for both pre-teens and teenagers, and would be a great gift for any girl in your life.
This book caught my eye with the creative cover! This is an amazing book for teen girls! I will definitely be reading some more of Beck's books! I wasn't in a bad shape but this book was so enlightening and gave me more confidence in myself.
This was a great book for me to read when I was a confused and awkward preteen! I think all young girls should read a book like this that gives a great esteemed message about emotions, self-esteem, and keeping your values and morals when they can be tested most.
this book thought me alot of things. I learned several things that I never knew. I book for girls to know themselves better. This actually made me look at myself. Thanks to PINK! Defying Gravity Conference help me.
This book is giving me more confidence in myself.
Good for teenage girls. Has journal prompts to get them thinking about the kind of girl they want to be, who is influencing them, how to stay safe, friendship issues, boys etc.
A must read for female teens and parents!Read my full review on My Feet Aren't Ugly: A Girl's Guide to Loving Herself from the Inside Out http://bit.ly/MKkeKT
