abducted by faerie Reviews
Sophie Morrigan's mother is THE Morrigan, renowned for her battle prowess and insatiable appetite for violence. Most fear her, some worship her, and her daughters wonder why she keeps having and abandoning children. Sophie is raised by one of her sisters, Belinda, in the insular Banshee community comprised entirely of Morrigan daughters. In many ways, she is more like her fabled mother and has unique talents and attributes that make her feel like an outsider. When Sophie reaches adulthood, she decides to move away and work for the Faerie Artifacts Bureau (FAB) in the Magical Object Division (MOD) as a field agent hunting down and retrieving dangerous magical items before they create too much havoc in the Faerie or human realms. Her latest retrieval (an off-the-books job) was the Golden Fleece, a stubborn magical artifact with a mind of its own. Despite repeated attempts to return it to the MOD vault, it stubbornly reappears on her head as a crown of feathers. Sophie has been influenced by magical objects before and doesn't trust the artifact as far as she can throw it. Wearing it makes her feel like she has complete understanding and control of her wayward powers and leads her to decisive decisions...but at what cost? How can she be sure that she is in control, instead of the fleece?Despite being stalked by an artifact, Sophie's life is pretty good. Her relationship with Owen is back on track and life has settled into a comfortable routine. Since Sophie can't be allowed any measure of long term happiness, Mr. Supervillain from episode #4 decides to retaliate for the golden fleece thing. He had originally paid pirates to steal it and is understandably upset. He retaliates by hiring an elusive, secretive sector of faerie society to abduct Owen. Now, Sophie is forced to use the fleece, a powerful weapon that she really doesn't trust or understand in order to retrieve Owen. Ava and Phoebe provide "girl power" backup...but is it enough to take on the Oscura, a secretive race with the ability to cloud minds?I'm still not sure why Owen was abducted. Abducted by Faerie was an interesting ride, but I felt like it had no purpose in the grand story arc. How did the abduction further Mr. Supervillain's agenda? Did it further someone else's agenda? It may become clear in book #6.
What a wild trip into Faerie This time we get to go on an adventure with Sophie and her friends in Faerie. I've gotta say what a great job you did on the world building and all the creatures living in Faerie. I think this was my favorite book so far in the series. Usually this far into a series it becomes boring, but not this book. It was definitely an adventure and I look forward to your next release.
Loved this big time! Love the adventures to Faerie and seeing new creatures friend and foe. Liked how the friendships deepened and how Sophie realises she has her own little "family" of friends, much better than when she started when she was so anti social. Cant wait for the next book which i'd greedily devour just like this one!
really really wow..ok ok I know, I should have read slower... Taken my time.. I didn't and now I feel the sting of regret.... Wonders if Wonders... Sophie becoming mature... not all of her choices are good, and the edging this time left me a bit frustrated .. and now I have to wait to see how it clears up..
Good, very goodOnce again this book like the others was very entertaining. She has come into her own and I found myself wanting to finish this book and what happens next. On to the next...
GoodNot my favorite but still a great book. Still some typos but a huge improvement over the last book. I look forward to seeing the story progress!
Awesome book. Kept me in the edge of my seat. Sophie and Owen are awesome as are Ava, Phoebe and the newest of the crew, Zoe. I can't wait for the next book!
