This story captured my attention 100%!! I absolutely love the characters the author introduces to us, Rupe continues from the Cash and Tally stories, only finds himself in very deep water when he awakens next to a dead girl!! He is a very wealthy young man, having sold some well known computer games, but is still a gentleman with an older mans' moral views on many things. As he is asked to go with police for answering questions about what happened during the night, his call for a lawyer is answered by a beautiful, if strict lawyer, Jayne. You know when you meet somebody and all just clicks, as if you have known them forever, this happens to Rupe. Jayne is in the midst of a tough divorce, puts all her energy in her job and has no desire to want a man in her life. The search for answers to deal with Rupe's arrest, and the struggling courtship of Jayne by Rupe makes this story simply sizzle under your fingertips!Absolutely a five star read, as mystery and a little romance meld together to create a thrilling story we all become a part of!!

What an absolutely brilliant read!!! This author has the knack of making her characters come alive in so much as you feel as if you're in the same room as them. I was in awe at the way this writer managed to combine a highly successful lawyer with a business playboy into a jaw dropping read. I'm living in hope that we hear more from Jayne and Rupe. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good crime story with a little romance attached.

Book 4 of the Winning Ace series concentrates on Rupe; Cash and Tally's best friend. Despite having wealth and playboy image, Rupe would love to be in a serious relationship. After an unfortunate incident, Rupe meets Jayne, a lawyer who is employed to defend him. Conflicts, attraction and pride all forms barriers between this pair. Will the barriers come tumbling down?

I'm a huge fan of this author's way of writing. Her characters jump off the page and become friends in no time at all. After devouring the first three books in this amazing series, despite my own hectic schedule, I had to start reading Mismatch as soon as it became available. It's a little different to the other books in the series, not only because the story involves Cash's playboy best friend, Rupe, who I adore, but also there is an added mystery angle to this book.Rupe is suspected of committing a heinous crime and is put through the ringer by the police until Cash arranges for Jayne Seymour a hot-shot lawyer to represent him. Instantly you see the sparks fly between the characters but Jayne wants nothing to do with Rupe as she's sworn off men for life after being betrayed by her husband who she is now divorcing. You'll just have to buy the book to see where the rest of the story goes from there. There are so many twists and turns in this one, you'd be daft not to read it.As always, Tracie's characterisation and wonderful writing engage the reader from the very first page.

Well Tracie Delaney certainly knows how to make you the reader fall for her hot male characters,as in her Winning Ace Trilogy i fell for Cash and fell hard, but his globe trotting best friend Rupe Fox-Whittingham made many appearances in this Trilogy and i did like his easy going character so i was very excited that he got his own story. What a book this was for Rupe, its didn't start off well waking up next to a dead body, but this is where Jayne Seymour comes in as his lawyer, and straight away there is a chemistry between them that goes nowhere fast as Rupe has to work hard to break down Jaynes walls that she has built around herself. She has had disastrous relationships in the past and is delinitely not looking at hooking up with Rupe as he is her client and in her eyes thats it.Loved Jaynes character as she takes no crap from Rupe or anyone and has built herself a good reputation that she likes everyone to know. But ha she didn't plan on having Rupe as her client and he didn't plan on making it easy for her at all with his constant baggering for a date,so the fun begins. There was a few twists in this story that kept with the pace of there back and forth relationship which kept me hooked all the way through with there contant banter.Rupe was a cad and funny with it that you just can't help but fall for,i was so glad that he got his own story and this story did not dissappoint at all. This was a fantasic book that i really enjoyed, i now can't wait to see what is next from this fabulous author.

I have loved Tracie Delaney from the moment I picked up the first Winning Ace book of her series as I realised that she has the kind of power that sucks you in, messes you up and leaves you hanging on, absolutely desperate for more and more and then some more. And Cash and Tally became the kind of couple that I wanted to chill out with on a Sunday afternoon on a large, comfy sofa with a glass or two of Chablis and talk for hours. I knew them and loved them. But all good stories have to end and all new stories have to have new beginnings.... So i was a bit nervous about this book - Could Tracie pull off in one book what she had achieved in the three before? I felt like I knew Jayne already but Rupert Whittingham-Fox was still somewhat of a mystery to me and I have to admit it took me a long time to warm to him, but I guess that was the point. It took a while to build and a while to grow on me, but when it did, I realised this book does have all the passion, intensity and courage of the series so far wrapped up into one book. And while I spent the first part of the book impatient for the story to really begin, I spent the last half desperate for it not to end. I have to admit that parts of the book felt a little rushed to me, but that's probably because I just want to keep reading more and more from Tracie Delaney.

Rupe gets his own book. And it's wow! I have been waiting for this once since first meeting Rupe in Tracie Delaney's Winning Ace book. Now, I have to admit I may not have quite fallen for Rupe like I imagined but this was a corking story, so it didn't matter at all. At first they are an odd couple but then you realise they are a power couple - think Amal and George or even Meghan and Harry - and it all makes sense. They are nothing like Tally and Cash and that's just perfect. In fact whilst Cash fans will be happy with the glimpses of him, this is quite different from other books in the Winning Ace series. I loved that, often authors just stick to a formula not so here.Such a great fun and easy read, so totally recommended. And it's a completely stand alone read.

It's been a pleasure to read this series and watch how much the authors writing has grown and developed throughout.Since Cash and Tally reached their HEA, this story features their friend, Rupe, who wakes up and makes a discovery that could be a life changer. He needs help and fast! Work focused lawyer, Jayne, is seemingly immune to Rupe's charms, especially as he seems to be oblivious to the seriousness of the situation he's in. But Rupe's not about to give up.I loved Jayne. She's such a strong character, and even though she does have her weaknesses she hides them well. She makes Rupe work hard, which for someone who often gets exactly what he wants it adds to the conflict and adds to the simmering tension between them. This is an incredibly well written story of suspense and intrigue with a blast of heat!

2019-05-11 06:25 have read the other three books in the Winning Ace series and loved them (I gave them all three stars) so I was delighted when I saw that a novella had been released to accompany the series! As soon as it arrived on my Kindle I jumped straight in and settled in for what I knew would be a treat based on the other books in the series! The book is an absolute delight, a fantastic story with brilliant characters - I read it in an afternoon and really didn't want the story to end!  An excellent story and 5 stars from me, can easily be read as a stand alone too - the book was released on 21st December 2017 so what are you waiting for!!

Fantastic, one of those books that draws you in and won't let go, loved it!We first met Rupert (Rupe) Fox-Whittingham in the Winning Ace series and I've been looking forward to getting inside the head and heart of Cash Gallagher's best friend.  From what we saw, he is easy going but can be 100% relied on when his friends need him. He has the image of a rich play boy that his name conjures up (in my mind anyway) who doesn't want to settle down. He loves his yacht in the Caribbean, but he's fiercely loyal to those he loves. He is the man who lights up the room and lifts a dark atmosphere when he walks in, you can't help but be drawn to his fun, carefree attitude. Mismatch is set a few years after the Winning Ace series and can be read as a standalone (although I highly recommend Cash and Tally's story too) so when the going gets tough for Rupe and he wakes up next to a dead body, he's in serious trouble. Enter Jayne Seymour, determined lawyer with a strong work ethic, but a woman who has built up a strong barrier around not just her heart but her whole self, thanks to a pig of an ex who just won't get out of her life. She's not in the mood for anything more than dealing with this case and moving on, but there's just one problem, she's knocked Rupe for six and he is nothing if not persistent!I loved Jayne, on first appearances she was a tough workaholic and wouldn't take any nonsense from Rupe, but as we got to know her and her layers slowly peeled away, there was a passionate woman underneath, but one afraid to let herself feel again.  I loved the way their relationship grew, Rupe reined himself in even though they both knew how hot their chemistry was. Jayne needed time and patience and Rupe was all man. The story builds, there was tension, mystery, suspense, (hot) action and some great interactions between the two. It was very different to Tracie's previous books which is fantastic and a credit to her skill and imagination. I recommend Mismatch and can't wait for what comes next from this very talented author.

Thoroughly Entertaining...Irresistible Rupe is leading a charmed life. He’s rich, successful, he’s got the world at his feet. He’s also selfish, superficial, and due an almighty fall—as provided by the dead woman he finds in his bed, and his lawyer, the strong and wonderfully written Jayne. Was I entertained? Hell, yes! Both by the twisty suspense plot, and by the romance between Rupe and Jayne—which is hot!Fluidly written, the characters sexy and engaging, the plot line engrossing, Mismatch is a goldmine of witty banter, the richness of the story coming not so much from watching Rupe (my new book boyfriend) fall, but more from how Jayne—gotta love her—coaches him through his tumble to land a perfect finish. Highly recommended.

This was one hell of a suspenseful, fast-paced and fun read! Rupe’s story was full of surprises and had me on edge the whole time. Talk about unputdownable! We already met Rupe in Cash’s story and know of his way to make light of everything, how he enjoys life to the fullest and that his wealth makes everything a hell of a lot easier for him. He’s not only very successful in business but also with women, so I was very curious which woman was able to catch him.I have always loved Rupert Fox-Whittingham and I liked seeing him finally getting attached to one woman. The road to his happily ever after was not as smooth and easy as he'd probably wished for but it's definitely one of the reasons why he even found her. Life’s sometimes tough and Rupe learned the hard way that some things couldn't be bought and that money eventually had its limits. Even though it was sad to see Rupe down in a seemingly hopeless situation, I liked getting to know a different, more serious and thoughtful side of him.Jayne was definitely right up Rupe’s alley because she was tough enough to not only stand her ground but also strike back to his flippant comments and sassy remarks. Her take-no-shit-from-nobody attitude was just one of her best characteristics and sure enough, Rupe – usually easily bored – was intrigued by her and the challenge she offered to him was too good to pass up on.It’s surely no surprise when I say that I absolutely loved Rupe not only because he was funny, smart and good-looking but mainly because he had good manners and was old-fashioned. I like me some old-school manly man and I strongly believe that he could charm his way into any woman's pants. Mine for sure =P The Story: Rupe wakes up in a hotel room next to a dead woman. And as if this wasn't shocking enough, he can’t believe it when the police show up at his doorstep to arrest him with the murder of said woman. His legal aid, Jayne Seymour - currently working through a divorce - is an independent woman, a workaholic and as tough as they come. But when her new client Rupert Fox-Whittingham is determined to take her out, no matter how often she declines, Jayne can't help but eventually succumb to his persistency and charm. Because one dinner should be manageable to survive, right?Although Rupe now finds himself in a situation that he can’t control, neither with his money nor his wit, he very much appreciates the most intriguing woman he’s ever met and he’s more than tempted to turn her world upside down. Thoughts: I’m so happy that I’ve found this author and her books because her writing is captivating and highly entertaining, which makes reading so much more fun.I liked that the story had a lot more depth than it first seemed. It was well thought through and not just about Rupe being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Also the easy and funny banter between the characters was what I loved the most. Jayne was a great woman but scared to get hurt again so it took a while for her to find out that beneath Rupe’s layer of his flippant attitude was a pretty decent guy. I think he was perfect for her because she sure needed someone like him, someone to give her all his attention and who cared about her so much that he didn't let her push him away. There was no chance for her to not eventually open up to him.Rupe on the other hand realized that his usual flippant self probably wouldn’t have helped him with someone like her. So he had to change his strategy which was kind of funny, because never would I have thought he would care what other people thought of him. But she was obviously a special person to him. Lucky her, he’s the whole package.Coming to an end of my review I’d like to mention that although this is a standalone, I warmly recommend reading Cash’s story – before or after this read – because Rupe and Cash are two very different yet so similar characters who are impossible not to fall in love with. -- I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book given by the author. --

Mismatch is the 4th book in the Winning Ace series by Tracie Delaney, but it can also be read as a stand alone novel. The plot centres around Rupe (the best friend of Cash in the Winning Ace novels) and Jayne.Anyone who has read Winning Ace will know that Rupe is great. He comes across as a laid back, genuinely nice guy, who also has the added benefit of being handsome, funny and successful. However, he is somewhat immature and needs to grow up. Unfortunately for him, he is boxed into a corner and finds himself with no alternative. He is aided in this by the lovely Jayne Seymour. A strong no nonsense female lead, who doesn’t put up with any of his silliness and seems to be initially rather impervious to his charms. Damsel in distress, she is not. And the book is better for it.There are also two deliciously vile characters in her book – the odious Kyle – the money grabbing ex husband and the villain of the piece. The backdrop ranges from the UK to Rupe’s yacht back to the UK. Each setting is beautifully described and enables the reader to be fully invested in the development of the characters. You really root for Rupe and Jayne and want them to get their happily ever after. There is a healthy dose of conflict, some of which is derived from Rupe being immature, and whilst this is entertaining, you do just want him to grow up and become the man that Jayne deserves. Because you know that he can be. Tracie has delivered another fast-paced book, in her thoroughly enjoyable concise writing style – no pointless filler for this author. In my opinion, this is Tracie’s best book to date. Her characterisation skills are developing, and this novel offers darker elements enabling Mismatch to venture towards thriller territory, with a romantic twist. Based on what Mismatch has to offer, I believe that Tracie Delaney could comfortably segue into the genre of thriller writer.

A fresh view on The Winning Ace world and I loved every bit of it.SPOILER ALERTI think I like Rupe’s story a little more than Cash and Tally’s.P L O TFor a love story being told in one single book we were given three enemies and all of them hate Rupe. Obviously. I guess they couldn’t take his cockiness and over- handsomeness, if that’s even a word. This book was funny is so many ways, sexy, romantic, and thrilling. What more could you ask for?C H A R A C T E R SJayne is a really strong, confident, and independent woman and I aim to be like her one day. She’s now my role model. Well except for the divorce and life threatening situations.I am surprised with this book because in the main trilogy, we always see Rupe as a happy-go-lucky kind of guy and for a couple of times I even forget he’s straight. My bad Rupe. I even seldom forget that he’s owner of a gaming company who makes softwares, apps, and all that jazz. So in a bit later part of the book is when it struck me, that Rupe is actually a computer nerd but he’s one of the extremely attractive ones. Good genes. It was so fun to see Cash and Tally again and I could imagine them still looking as hot and sexy as ever. With Jayne’s own words, “the most attractive couple she’d ever met.” I wish we’d seen more of the kids, I wonder what their fates would be like. Let’s not forget about Emmalee! My fave gal! I wish we could turn back time and learn about her relationship with David, I asked Tracie about this but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Em never fails to give the best advice, who wouldn’t listen to her? I mean, look at her life! She’s happy with a great man by her side. Really need to take dating tips from Em.W R I T I N GAs I was reading this book, I sometimes forget that this is a romance novel and not a crime/mystery genre. With that said, the amount of suspense and thrill this book has was more than enough to keep me at edge of my seat. My interest never faltered and Jayne was a perfect leading lady.O V E R A L LI love this book and this world, I love how Jayne is very modern and Rupe is super retro and loves the old ways. I love how Jayne is super uptight and Rupe’s laid back even in serious situations. Opposites attract, and they seem like they’re mismatched to strangers, they’re the perfect match for each other.

Anyone that knows me knows that I absolutely love The Winning Ace series. Cash Gallagher is my kind of guy and I absolutely fell head over heels in love with him, he's enigmatic, complex and hot to trot and he plays tennis. Win-win! So it was going to take something big to make me look twice at another character. Enter Rupe Fox-Whittingham. In WA he's the best friend and the guy that Cash leans on for support when things go up and down with Tally. In Mismatch? He's all his own guy and boy does he hold his own.In a bizarre twist of fate Rupe ends up meeting and needing Jayne Seymour, a lawyer who isn't afraid to tell Rupe what she thinks. Jaynes had a bit of a bad run, relationship wise and isn't looking for anything beyond a client/lawyer relationship, but as she's finding, Rupe is one kind of guy it's impossible to stay away from. Their chemistry together was electric. But it was also sweet and clean, if you get what I mean. Even though situations arise in Mismatch, their chemistry and their attraction stays the same. They may fight it but it's there and it's constant. They have this back and forth kind of relationship but you can quite clearly see they are made for each other. The overall storyline kept me engaged, it's an easy read but at the same time you get frustrated at the different layers there are. I absolutely loved it and I love Rupe. His character has always needed his own story and I'm so glad the author gave him a voice. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for her next book. Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this book. I have loved this cheeky chappy since the very first book in the series and I’m pleased he got his own story and oh my this book did not disappoint. We got to witness the player being brought to his knees by this feisty lawyer. The story right from the start draws you in and doesn’t let go. It’s fast paced and with a bit of suspense and romance we have a match made in heaven. The chemistry between Rupe and Jayne is off the charts even though she tried to fight it in the beginning and we even catch a glimpse of Cash and Tally which is always an added bonus. Over all a fantastic read which I couldn’t put down and i highly recommend this book as well as the whole series.

This is the easiest 5 stars , I have read the other 3 books in The Winning Ace series but this is the best one yet and my favourite. Rupert Fox Wittingham was the character we all wanted to read about and this story did not disappoint. The characters, plot and writing are just perfect. I devoured this book in 24 hours over Christmas, I could not read it fast enough. Action, romance, murder mystery what more could you want. This can be read as a standalone and you could start with this book, but if you haven't read the others in this series, do so because they are brilliant.

Great read couldn't put it down!! Totally loved this book. It was so nice to read about Rupe, who was such a loveable character in the previous books. It was nice to find out how Cash and Tally are getting on as well. Definitely recommend this book.

Having loved the Winning Ace series and the super hot tennis ace Cash Gallagher, I was really excited that Rupe Fox-Whittingham (Cash's best friend) was getting his own book!At first glance Rupe appears to be a rich globetrotting playboy who takes nothing and no one seriously. His carefree attitude certainly caught my attention and that he lives on a yacht most of the time. How cool is that? However, his life takes an unexpected downward spiral when he wakes up to a dead body in his bed. A real WTH moment!Enter Jayne Seymour a prominent lawyer secured by Cash to represent Rupe. Instant attraction sparks between them despite the fact that Jayne wants nothing to do with all men, having been betrayed by her husband, and going through a sticky divorce. Will Jayne be able to prove Rupe's innocence? Will Rupe convince Jayne to give him a chance?Well, you'll just have to buy Mismatch to find out what happens!I do love a good crime story with a bit of romance! Twists and turns abounds making this book a real page turner!Tracie has a knack for writing multi-layered characters, and a style that grabs you from the beginning! Move over Cash, Rupe is my new book boyfriend!I recommend this book! Try will love Rupe too!
