burnt by the flame Reviews
There's something quite exquisite about how much splendor Sharon Robards creates turning the past into coherent stories. Interpreting any form of history can be a tricky business but genre fans can be assured here we have descriptions of 15th-century Europe of the highest order. Young Sophia Dorothea of the Duchy of Celle has an ideal way for thinking. For her marrying for love is the most important thing, but with her father (George William, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg) a man of great power and wealth, it makes her attractive for means other than her beauty. Instigated by his mother Sophia of Hanover, Sophy will find herself miserable in a loveless marriage to George I, King of Great Britain. Unhappy with her husband's numerous absences and wandering eye Sophy will risk her life with her family when she takes an interest in Swedish count Philip Christoph von Königsmarck. In what was indisputably a mans world Sophy knows that she is putting not only her heart but also her life on the line. With well-executed drama combined with intricate tension, Robards has crafted a superb insight into a truly fascinating figure that time has not been kind too. For anyone who has a hankering for the days of old told with an adept eye for detail, this is a story as grand as it is memorable.

While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one. A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. Wow, a very well written historical fiction book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a large set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great 17th. Century movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.
