Just One More Colour Reviews
Oh, this book was so frustrating for me. It had the potential to be a five star book, yet the scary dog moment (it didn’t last long but I still didn’t like it) and the unsatisfying (for me) end, ended up disappointing me a bit. However, this is a really fun read aloud book. And the story is cute and clever. And while I’m not a huge fan of the illustration style, I loved the colors (excuse me: colours) and content and all the detail. It’s an amusing story about a man who paints his house to match his surroundings, but the surroundings keep changing, and so he keeps painting. The story allows for a discussion of nature and the changing seasons and the weather, and I did appreciate that. I did really like this but it kind of let me down at the end. However, its open-ended finale might inspire some really enjoyable discussions with the kids. This book is perfect to read aloud with one child or many children. However frustrating and disappointing, I ended up really liking this book. And, why on earth have no other Goodreads members rated this yet?
I chose this one solely because I liked the author's last name. I enjoyed the book, too. It's an odd little story.
