Romance by adventure, set in Bolivia. The heroine is a medical student, who has just finished her coursework before her three year residency. She was raised by an archaeology professor who is getting more absent-minded in his old age. (He's 60 *rolls eyes*) The professor is going on an expedition in Bolivia and the heroine is convinced he'll fall off of a mountain or get lost - so she has decided to join him. The leader of the expedition (hero) will not allow women, so our very beautiful heroine wears loose khakis and a ball cap in her "innocent charade." The hero sees right through her disguise before they ever leave the hotel. Heroine is set to fly back to England in defeat when the group's doctor cancels because of illness. The heroine goes along as their medic. What follows is a delightful hike through the Andes with lots of local lore thrown in, the heroine fighting her feelings for the hero, and the hero showing his protective alpha side. He brings her hot water every morning and she doesn't realize it's him until half-way through the trip.I'd love to visit the Andes, but honestly, reading about it is the only way my nerves could handle it. I hate heights - just the swinging bridge description stressed me out. :)(view spoiler)[ The H/h share a few kisses, but the hero is pretty adamant about no romance - until the heroine is injured at the end of their trip and she stays with his English mother at their family villa. The heroine thinks he has an OW and returns to England broken-hearted. (This lasts about two pages) The hero follows and declares himself. HEA(hide spoiler)]The unusual setting and fun adventure was very enjoyable. The angst at the end was a manufactured black moment - but I can accept that. What I can't accept is that the heroine gave up her dreams of being a doctor to be with the hero. No.Just No.What is she going to do all day? I hate when the heroine has to give up something near and dear to her to be with the hero. There's no reason why she couldn't work in Bolivia and still be married. *sigh* That knocks a star off. Stay in school kids.

No conozco un hombre boliviano con las características de este héroe. Se lo voy a dejar pasar porque es una novelita vintage, aunque para ese género tengo a mi favorita Betty Neels que les pasa el trapo a todas estas escritorcitas chiruzas (?).

Oh! The feels! So many feels in this book!! Those tingles and heart lurches that only come from the very best of books, they kill me. This hero, holy swoon. "I don't care. I just want you in my arms. I want to devour you.""You have moved inot my soul, encantadora.""Want me. Stay with me."On her fear of pain from the break of her hymen:"One moment of pain and we belong to each other, querida."
